Regarding the extent of HE...for novel readers who may wish to have a full blown HE scene, we may not get that since this is a 40 episode drama and many things were left out from this very long novel and also due to the 40 max episode regulation. So the HE may be similar to Ancient Love Poetry, short, but I personally am ok with that. But many may not find it satisfying... for me, if it was happy and provided some closure to the torment and constant angst experienced from one episode to the next, I am satisfied with this. If I wanted more detail to round out and further my experience, I would read the ending chapters of the book.

The problem here with the drama after so much angst if it really ended with a BE it will not have a high rewatch…
YouKu knows this and they will not let that happen... hence the extras (epilogues) after episode 40. They've invested alot of money in this XianXia (most expensive ever produced) and they will want their return on investment, at least not lose money, and they milk this as long as they can.. .so far the main storyline is following the book, and the book had a HE.
