I see why they paired release of 14 and 15 together for regular members for Thursday. 14 is more of a filler episode when it comes to the romance but fleshes out the characters for the next subplot.
Lu Yun noticeably stopped denying it's "love" when Changyi mentions it and his grandmother teases him about it. :) Then we also see why the Prince isn't the right fit for Lingyu-- betting over Lingyu, keeping her in the dark that the winner of the contest will be the bride...is the same as ignoring her autonomy and treating her like an object to be won. I saw ep 17/18 teaser and I love the Lu Yun clocks in how unilateral that is and keeps asking what SHE wants.
How is it her fault she got kidnapped? If anything I would blame the Prince’s security lol…Girl has done a…
Agree with @daenerys and to add to that: She was able to escape on her own, she knew she needed to rescue herself. She never gave up. But she's not superman; that last conversation summed up how she also has her limits too.
I wish this show got the attention it deserves. Finished episode 13 and that final scene with the conversation between them was so perfect. Lingyu is an independent woman with a fighting spirit who's always relied on herself and Lu Yun is the man who's falling further in love with her for exactly those reasons. As strong as she is, she recognizes moments where she has her lows and this episode was the first time she experienced someone (Lu Yun) wanting to protect and support her (though she hasn't realized that yet). All of Lu Yun's small actions are so telling of how much he admires her independence and wants to be the one by her side.
Great analysis! FL is truly a problem solver. She ain't got time for catty business bc she's too busy trying to…
Yesss a problem solver and resilient. like the last few episodes showed how LY came to learn and understand that all her schemes are done with the intention of securing a future where she can protect her sister, as well as herself. and given his past, its easy to see why he admires that about her.
Honestly love the ending for episode 12. Also, you see all 3 men featured. The Prince praises her but from an egocentric perspective--that she knows what he wants (like dude she just asked your sis). Fan chen is there with his obsessive creepy words. Ew.
Only Lu Yun praises her for who she is... like completely in awe of how she faces any challenges. :)
Literally obsessed with this show right now. It's the perfect rom com. It's light, the leads are SMART, they have a playful chemistry. Each episode slowly unravels why they keep falling for further for each other, though it's the ML falling faster and harder each episode. :) Also the plot summary above should have mentioned that the ML has a secret identity; a big part of it that adds fun to the plot.
