This Kdram, I have never seen a child cut ties with their families. For some reason the family would end up back in their lives. When a character does cut ties , it is because they lie about their background and are EVIL.

I totally understand where you are coming. It is possible my bias towards Yun Ja and Na Young make it hard for me to picture them dating.
I still have the image of tomorrow preview with Yun Ja speaking rudely to Do Ri.
Of this was real life, I say DY can keep his love life and romance separate but for this drama it is hard since Yun Ja has no filter and will harras SY because they are dating. If Yun Ja would never step into SY’s place, I would vouch for them but we have seen Yun Ja be bold. Bold enough to have tantrum at SY’s place and stick around until she wants to leave. That kind of attitude is frustrating to see.

The question isn’t that they can’t do what they want but can’t. Both are dependent of their family. Both are living at home and DY does not have a corporate job. I am sure DR can support herself but can DY turn his back on his family that is the question??

Tomorrow’s episode will give DR a good taste of what it will be like if she marries Do Young. Do Young need to grow up. He just stood there while Do Ri gets disrespected by his mom. I really hope the writer does bring them back to reality. For the past 25 years, DY, NY and YJ lived a comfortable life. I put DY in that category because although he likes DR, he appears selfish in my eyes now. He saw his mom insult the woman he loves and he still want to date her. If he was a bit selfless, I would root for them. Why would DR want to be with a man who isn’t independent, weak and has terrible family members. Imagine how her life would be, she will have to take care of Na Young, DY’s mom, dad and grandma. Isn’t that too much responsibility??? I hope there is someone who can see where I am coming from?
