Naran and dao should breakup atp because they're not happy with each other and also her family doesn't approve…
Totally. I can see why he started dating her in the first place (money, he was attracted to her probably) but at this point he's (very!) actively involved with someone else and doesn't even seem to care all that much about her, so why even maintain the facade? I assume she doesn't break it off with him because she's in love with him, though not sure why at this point.

What is written in the notes: - Electric shock- (Sexual) deviation- Hypnosis
Agreed! I'd have expected BoC to make sure there were subs.

Thank you!! I was surprised that the show didn't subtitle some of the more important notes so I appreciate this.

Title Shine (Orchestric Ver.) Spoiler
literally i can't forget the last scene lol i am confused as well because he has a wife and all lol but the chemistry…
I have zero problems with him cheating on her because yeah, neither of them should have been forced into the marriage in the first place, but I feel badly for her.

I'm not sure I'd say she has no feelings for Krailert so yeah, def feel bad for her. Her father definitely knew he was forcing/encouraging her into marrying a closeted gay man, which is pretty cruel. The other soldier is definitely in love with her but I doubt her father is going to be okay with her marrying him instead.

Title Shine (Orchestric Ver.) Spoiler
what was that doesn't that krailert have a wife then why ...... and i think that veera he likes his wife too .....…
Krailert only has a wife because his boss, the General, basically threatened him into marrying his daughter (which is pretty cruel to her because for sure no one told her she was marrying a gay man), after the army killed his boyfriend (the actor). I'm not sure Krailert had all that much choice in the matter. But yes, he's cheating on her.

At the end, Naran "decoded" the message that Krailert had "hidden" in his reply in the newspaper (the two of them have been exchanging music reviews using pseudonyms for a while) so Naran knew where Klai Rung (? not sure about the name Krailert was using when he wrote his articles) would be at a certain time, so he went there (to the library). So it was the first time the two men knew who the other was in real life, and evidently the sparks flew!

Okay, so Victor's father is Russian, or was speaking Russian?
Well, I just have a hard time understanding how a production company like BoC, so not some fly-by-night company, would have such an obvious translation error of an English word (meaning that in English we use the word "Communist") in English subs. But maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Right! I watched part of the recent White Lotus season and understood from that that there are a large number of Russians in Thailand now, but it sounds like Victor's father may not have been part of a large group. Then again, we know he's a writer so maybe he writes eulogies for any of the deceased who are part of that church, so maybe just Christians and not Russians? This is all probably way too much speculation. 😂

🤣 No insult intended! I just assumed you weren't a much older Russian who'd lived in Thailand in the late 1960s. 😉😄

Ha ha! I also thought of KP but since I heard "Communists" I was surprised and confused. But a translation error? Not sure I agree but could be.

Ah, yes, maybe but why Thailand? And how did he end up married to his Thai wife? Then again...why not Thailand? Maybe he wanted somewhere warm and less oppressive?

Was there a large Russian ex-pat community in Thailand/Bangkok then?

I hope all of our questions will be answered by the end! And very happy to have an "expert" in our midst. 😁

Okay, so Victor's father is Russian, or was speaking Russian?
Thanks very much! I think the subs I had used the word "priest" and not "reverend" but maybe my brain processed priest. I just assumed that he wasn't talking about a Thai monk so wondered why so many Russians were dying recently.
Maybe the father got into some trouble in Russia and decided to leave? Like you said, I guess we'll see.
But speaking of Communists, the subs I had translated that word as "Mafia" during the exchange that Trin and Victor had when Trin ran into Victor pasting up the flyers. Trin was telling him that the land the students were protesting over was in a risky/dangerous area, full of "thieves and _____." We could hear Apo say "Communists" but the sub said "Mafia," which is not the same thing at all!

Ah, thanks! And yes, I guess so? And can we assume that the priest who would receive the eulogies is Russian Orthodox? Meaning that the deceased are Russians?
