SUNNY, want some true? I LOVE YOU!!!
This is one of those movies, that you think while watching the 10th minute, oh, hell, why didn't I watch this earlier???
This is such a heartwarming and brilliant story, it made me cry, just because it was so good! After the movie was over, I wanted to hug my besties SO much, it's a pity it was 3 in the morning and it was not possible...
I was so sad because of the unfortunate reason they were reconnected after so many years, and kind of confused why they had to separated in the first place.
The dialogue of the main leads, just broke my heart, it's so important to understand, that YOU are the protagonist of you life, and having your friends with you makes it a lot easier.
I hope my friends always remain by my side.
Thank you SUNNY!!!

Amazingly beautiful movie!

Kim Go-Eun is fantastic everywhere I watched her, but here... she was a ray of light through the dusty windows of the writer's old house...

I cannot imagine how one can watch this movie and come up with comment about porn, lust and "man in 70s thinking about a 17year old girl"... This movie is not about that. It was poetry, and and as with all poetry, you don't look at the words and sentences separately, you try to understand what the writer meant and what your heart understands, and this movie means so much more... like the writer understood how much Eungyo's mirror meant to her, and his student did not, seeing as one of thousand mirrors produced in a factory...

It's amazing how people cannot see through the age barrier the movie presents. Why do you think a young actor was chosen to play the role of a 70-year-old poet. Did Korea not have any talented actors in that age or an age closer than Par Hae-Il's 30s? Of course they did! He was chosen to show, that a 70-year-old does not mean old, boring, and a pervert, if he fell for a 17-year-old. I really loved the words he said during the award congratulatory speech "As your youth is not a prize for your efforts, my agedness is not a punishment for my shortcomings." This sentence wraps up the conflict of age of this movie so beautifully, I do not have anything to add.

EunGyo made him young, as young, as I am sure he still was in his heart, and she brought it even closer to the surface. As awkward and strange I felt in the beginning of the movie, imagining myself in such a situation, after a certain point of the movie that barrier was non-existant to me, and it is one of the main strengths of this movie, it describes the situation and feelings so well, all you have to do as a viewer is just follow its lead...

One more sentence... I will forever recognize Park Hae-Il's eyes... everywhere and every time... it was my first time seeing him in anything, and he just barged into my heart with no intention of leaving it anytime soon!

I remember only the sound of the rain and...the sound of the rain from this movie...

Nothing happens... I mean it...nothing...

It's raining...the woman is packing her things to leave her too nice husband (she's at least mental, as her husband is Hyun Bin, and you should be at least mental to leave Hyun Bin)...it's raining...the guy us making coffee for his cheater wife...she's suddenly hitting his chest with her hands...a cat appears...then their neighbors come to look for the dat...then again they are alone (though the cat is somewhere in the house)...the guy is again cooking for his cheater wife...then he is washing his face...she's decorating the pasta they're going to eat...the cat appears...it's raining...the end...

If you have decided to watch this drama, be prepared for a fantastic thrilling story of people who are deeply flawed and dangerous, but who promise you an adventure from which, you will not want to come back to the real world.
What do you say to a team, consisting of a detective who has been removed from the office for his personality and morale, a convicted gangster, who once organised the taking of whole Seoul streets, convicted contract killer, whose method is to kill and make it look as an accident, and he is in the prison only because he came and turned himself in... (WHY?) and a serial killer, who is a psychopath and a genius and insists he does not remember killing anybody, though his girlfriend claims he also tried to kill her... (another piece of puzzle you will have to watch the drama to understand) trying to solve complicated cases (like a serial murder case, an organisation that sells people and human organs, gangsters, drug dealers...) and working as a team to make their time in prison shorter, that is the reason you are given in the beginning, but as the story goes on, you start realising that every one of them has another reason for joining the team. Although they are pictured as cruel murderers in the beginning, you realise they are human beings who want 2nd chance, to be better, to be forgiven, to find themselves, to be humane! Sounds intriguing, doesn't it? Believe me when I say, that watching it will not give you even the chance to breath calmly! There were moments, where I had to stop the drama, have moment and then continue. This drama will have you imprisoned until you finish it and even longer, as after you finish it, you will have to talk to somebody and tell them how utterly fascinated you are with it.
It is really rare in a drama, where there are no scenes that could be absent and you would not care, scenes that you can just fast forward through and get the story all the same, well, hear my warning, this drama has no such scenes, miss a second, and you will miss an important part of information, that you should have heard!
I don't even think I have the right to talk about the actors, as every single one of them were brilliant in their role, Park HaeJin making me shiver with the twitch of his lips, Ma DongSeok and Jo DongHyeok (my first time seeing him) with their bromance, their heart and brain, Kim SangJoong, with his grief and anger, I don't find another word, except for... PERFECT!
This is a gem, which I will recommend you every one who asks an opinion from now on.

First I want to ask a question 'Why remake a great drama 4 years after it's production?' I still don't understand the reason.

Next, I would like to ask anybody who discovers in the drama an ikemen to let me know, cause I didn't find one, we~ll Nakatsu was a really cute guy (maybe I'm biased, as I'm crazy about his character), sometimes Sano's actor seemed OK, but...OMG... I didn't find anyone appealing enough to call them ikemen...whatever, that's not the problem.

If they were going to remake the great drama, I thought their goal was to make it closer to the manga, I'd be crazy about it and undoubtedly, they added some features that covered the manga, but...the characters just didn't fit, I still can't believe I was watching Hana Kimi, my favourite manga and drama... the feeling was whole another one... I didn't even feel serious about watching it, just curious...

The director polished Sano's character, which I actually liked, as in the earlier version Sano at first got on my nerves by his always moody expression and not taking part in school activities, this Sano was more sensual...I'm talking about the character, not the actor, as till the last moments I couldn't see him as my fvourite character ever. I just fell in love with him during the last scene with Mizuki, when he came to US to see her, he was gorgeous!

Mizuki... didn't like her... though she had some awesome lines throughout the drama, script writes, gambarimashita!

Nakatsu...great fella...liked his acting (then again, I might be biased :P)... His character was one the closest to the Nakatsu I remember from the last version, Toma Ikuta's genius! I really like this guy!

Whatever you decide 'watch' or 'not to watch', remember, this peace of work, I mean the story, is one of the greatest works in the manga history, please, spare some time, read the manga, you won't regret the time you spent, I promise! When you have read the manga, watch the original version, it has a whole another feeling about it, but it's gorgeous, funny and lovable...after you've done these, you can watch this version and judge for yourself.

I still can't stop my tears...
Just imagining how the most trivial thing - food, can open the most beautiful story of love before the audience's eyes...
Two of my favourite actors made this movie unforgettable for me... The style of romance... the director could be only a woman... such soft and tender scenes made me have butterflies in my stomach...
And, please, could somebody tell me who is the author of the score and where I can get it from, cause the music is heavenly...
And for the last scene... The journalist is telling the audience the ingredients of the doenjang, he lists the food, the flowers... and lastly the tears... The way of making... Waiting and waiting... The last scene... a tear falls and dries... leaving salt... and the music...

First of all, let's face it, nobody really expected this remake version to come even near to the original, right?

I enjoyed this drama on it's own way, though not the best drama I watched, as it is difficult not to compare to the original.

The story evolved mostly the same way as in the original, though there were some clever solutions not to copy the story (Geun-Suk's cameo... some funny moments).

The acting... The fist character I approved of was Ren, a cute guy, actually, I liked his acting throughout the series a lot, at first I was thinking 'God, he'll kill himself trying to look and sound like Tae-Kyoung' but then I discovered his own charm. I fell in love with his smile, actually.

The next character I came to like was Mio/Miko (don't make me compare her to Minam/Shin-Hye, ok? just please). I'm just saying, she got into the role very well, and she did great job on her own. The next character I like is the president, he had a lot of funny moments, I enjoyed his scenes, especially his last scene with Miko.

Now to the bad part... I didn't like all other characters... Shu... boring, not deep enough, I couldn't see or sense his love and loss every time (again I compared, but I can't help remembering Sin Woo's face and my breaking heart for him, though at that time Yong-Hwa wasn't even acting that good). Yuuki... overcuteness made him not cute at all, honestly, when I try to remember any scenes with him, he just disappears from the scene, when others are around (and remember Jeremy, and his acting, he was a total scene stealer!)NaNa...oh, come on, her voice just got on my nerves...and her friend/make-up artist, he was just gross (I'm sorry to say this, every scene with that guy, I just closed my eyes/ears, couldn't hear his screeply voice and see his overly thin face).

Back to good things :) I loved the piano score very-very much! It fit the drama perfectly!

Once again, not the best drama I watched, but it had its own good moments.

One of those movies, that you fall in love unconditionally...

Really a lovely piece of work.

The life of the main hero is being changed so much by the 6 year old child in his care, his every development brought tears to my eyes, especially, when you notice after some time of the movie, that not only Daikichi's life is changing, but for a more impressive effect his house is changing... from the boring ordinary room, into a room where everything is colorful, and everything is hanging from the ceiling...

I like that they made the child not the burden for Daikichi, but his partner in the challenges they faced... she was his equal while running, while making decisions, even sometimes the one that was actually guiding him!

Absolutely adorable moments when Daikichi is imagining dancing with Yukari and gets strength from the scenes...haha~ and his face when they first meet... priceless...

One of my favourite moments when at the end the children are doing their show and Rin repeats the movements Daikichi's sister taught her, Daikichi gives his sister the dirty look like 'How dare you teach my daughter such moves!!!' And of course the last moment, when he shows everyone her photo in his phone so proudly, haha~

The part when he was writing to Ren mom... so funny~ and when he was thinking that whatever happens, when he has Ren by his side at night, sound asleep when he sees her smile when he comes to get her from nursing school... everything's alright...

I hope they leave this story like this, and don't continue as the manga does, I read how it ends... I don't like the idea AT ALL...

Whatever they decide, this movie became one of my favourite ones from the first moments I was watching it, and that almost never happens to me...

Enjoy!

Mars is my favourite manga ever! The story is fantastic and the characters are so lovable. When I found that there was a drama, I started watching it without even giving the second thought (I don\'\'t usually watch Taiwanese dramas)...
I liked it, but it doesn\'\'t come even close to what the mange is for me, I think Koreans would make the drama better (my personal, subjective opinion). Though I likes the guy playing Ray, I didn\'\'t like Barbie\'\'s performance, she wasn\'\'t quite Kira...
Maybe if you like the mange very-very much, you expect the drama to be everything you expected, and if smthg is not...you get disappointed easily.
