Also, I was not a fan of the previous female general shows as I find them too forced. It doesn't look believable…
I totally agree with you. I've tried several dramas like this where the women can defend themselves, but most of them look too strong but unfortunately are too easily defeated by the enemy. I mean, from the beginning of the drama, there should be an approach first so that it doesn't immediately come across as strong from the start, so there is tension behind all the scenes. Only this drama really lives up to expectations, even the story execution is very good.
how much romance is there? i dont want palace politics or jealous concubine dramas. can anyone confirm?
There is none of the traits you mentioned in this drama. It is about sects and martial artists and about tragic love in the previous generation which is quite related to the story of the ML and FL generations.
I would seriously recommend those who are lost or confused in the first 1-2 eps to either give the drama a little…
Yeah I got confused in the first episode. But I got interested when I only finished 4-5 episodes because there was not enough mystery if we just looked into dialogue.
For those of you who want to watch, I'll give you a brief review of episodes 1-5. Honestly, it's actually really interesting to watch, but in episodes 2-3 there are really a lot of new characters. To the point where you don't know where the story is going or what the future plot might be. Starting from episodes 4-5, it's interesting to follow because the direction of the story is starting to become clear.
