The strong chemistry between the leads, the solid acting and the cinematography, managed to save this drama. I genuinely enjoyed the romantic aspect. It was perfect for indulging in some delulu moments, but the thriller element was a complete mess. Everything outside the romance felt random and confusing. Honestly, the rating is fair, and if you're upset about it, you should blame the writer.
Letās be real, this dramaās story didnāt make much sense from the start. But honestly, the male leadsā chemistry and acting were so good that I couldnāt stop watching till the end. I didnāt even care about anything else; I was just here for them, and they gave me exactly what I wanted from a romantic drama.
But oh my gosh, the freaking "Izmael" part was so annoying and such a letdown!
Regarding the "argan" part, I'll admit I was a bit confused when it came up. But honestly, I wonāt lie, the MLās seductive appearance completely stole my attention. That legendary passionate kiss and the intense bed scene had me so satisfied that I totally forgot about that plot point, haha! Later, some people on X reminded me about it, and a few even cleared up my confusion. They mentioned that the plot was part of the original work, but it was rushed in this adaptation.
The when I found out the real reason behind it, all I wanted to do was scream at the people who shoved this trash plot into the drama: youāre disgusting, pathetic, and I canāt stand your existence!
I canāt get over how incredible this drama was! It gave me everything I wanted and then some. The acting was top-notch, the romance was breathtaking, and the chemistry between the leads was electrifying. The ML and FL absolutely owned their roles, it was perfection from start to finish!
This is easily one of the most beautiful and exciting dramas Iāve ever watched! Iām so happy with how it turned out. From start to finish, it was such an amazing experience. The performances, the chemistry, the direction, and the cinematography were all spot on. Just incredible!
I won't deny it , this show absolutely needed a second season. There were so many details left to uncover. However, the actual Season 2 was a massive disappointment for me. None of the characters stood out or had any charm. Despite the presence of well-known actors and multiple storylines, it all felt cluttered and unnecessary. The transitions between the various plot points lacked cohesion, making the narrative feel disjointed. My biggest gripe, though, is with the games. That was the aspect I was most excited about, but the execution was a complete letdown. They had so much potential to do better, but sadly, it missed the mark for me.
Btw: the only highlight for me was Gong Yoo in Ep 1. He was absolutely fantastic. Honestly, they should have given him more screen time, he deserved it.
Isnāt it the best feeling when you start a show with no expectations, and it completely sweeps you off your feet? Thatās exactly how I feel about this Kdrama! Itās been such a lovely surprise so far, and Iām really hoping it keeps this level of quality or even gets better. With just 12 episodes, itās a bit of a mixed bag. Short dramas can be so satisfying, but sometimes they rush things and leave us a bit lost. Hereās hoping this one gets it right and becomes a perfect example of how amazing a 12 eps series can be!
We should really be thankful for all the fun and exciting content K-dramas offer us. I recently watched a beautiful "American movie" and was so excited to check out the behind the scenes content and interviews. But to my surprise, they didnāt have any of it! I was so disappointed that it kind of ruined the good feeling I had after watching the movie.
Watching edits of this drama "later" with all the episodes is so heartwarming. Itās a beautiful, peaceful collection that skips over the complicated parts of the writing and just gives you the best moments, the crĆØme de la crĆØme!
Seeing how deeply Haein is influenced by his characters in real life highlights his remarkable dedication as an actor. After filming DP, he experienced PTSD and has restless nights, often dreaming of re-enlisting. His mother even said he seemed like a completely different person after Veteran 2, and it takes him time to fully return to himself. So, seeing him take on this new role with such happiness really touches my heart. Despite some issues with the writing, this project gave us many beautiful moments, especially the pure joy of Haein and Somin and their iconic interactions.
I've been watching Kdramas since 2014 and have seen many beautiful couples, but Haein and Somin stand out as something truly exceptional. They made me feel emotions I hadnāt experienced before, and thereās something uniquely special about them, both on and off screen. I never expected their story to resonate with me like this, but theyāve firmly secured the top spot on my list of Kdrama couples. While I might have mixed feelings about the drama itself, Iāll always remember it for giving us this unforgettable pair.
Iām truly envious of those who will watch this drama later(after 1 year or more), All the episodes are out, the hate has quieted down, and they can fully enjoy the story without any distractions. They'll get to experience the beauty of it all in peace.
But oh my gosh, the freaking "Izmael" part was so annoying and such a letdown!
F**k u Netflix and MBC

I hate Netflix from the bottom of my heart.
