getting so worried that there is no preview for episode 10
As far as I know the 7th of July is a Chinese memorial day (Marco Polo Bridge incident.) So, the lack of trailer could be due to that. However, if that was the reason--why would they release the episode today?
I hate it, but I think we will start to see cuts--even if they haven't happened yet. This show has gained so much attention, and that will make certain political parties unhappy. Remember all the insanity around Untamed. The crack down on BL content happened after the success of that show--and that was censored.
Even if it's aired outside China, stuff might get removed to protect the actors. And while, I don't want anything to happen to them because of this... I also feel like saying it's okay without the kisses, and we don't need them, is a disservice to the show and the book. I want everything they've filmed because that's what they chose/dared to film. It's not okay, because I don't accept that the censorship of same-sex relationships is okay.
Review bombing from fans of the other dramas/other actors/actresses. People are rating episodes that haven't even…
Everyone has their own preferences. I was iffy about this up until now because of the FL's choices. Character building/consistency is important to me. But in this drama, it felt like it was all over the place. For instance, the FL is very kind but then will randomly do something cruel and thoughtless and laugh about it afterward. Her choices felt like a way to drive the plot forward, instead of being true to her character. That's it. It has nothing to do with review bombing. I like both actors. In fact, the reason I've kept watching until now was because of TJC. We don't all have to love the same drama, and neither should every review be glowingly positive. It's good to have a combination of constructive criticism and positive reviews because then viewers can decide based upon lots of different opinions. If we never express our options, both positive and what we wished was different, we'd all be watching the exact same drama over and over again.
Just saw the trailer for ep 20... Can we end this madness now please? Lol. The Fl knows he's not a bad guy, but she can't stop lying and gaslighting him. It's making any future connection between them seem insane. How could you ever trust someone who lied and deceived you at every turn.. Fingers crossed for a solution soon!
can anyone tell me if all the Chinese medicine remedies like accupressure, keeping an apple while you sleep etc.…
When I lived in China with my partner, he insisted on visiting a TCM hospital. He was prescribed herbs, his pulse was taken. They told him it was an imbalance. It was six months before he visited a 'western' doctor for proper blood tests, and it turned out that he had heart disease. I wouldn't risk my health by trusting in a practice that focuses on antidotal evidence rather than science-led research. Just my two cents. I will say things like massage, taking herbs to lower stress and aid sleep, etc, are all valid in my mind as alternative therapies. But that's where it ends.
Meh this drama falls into the great visuals, both are very good looking in a model like way but I also feel very…
Same. It's beautifully lit and I appreciate the pacing. But all of the TCM talk and the very obvious inclusion of Huawei mobiles (I've also seen this in Filter) makes me think the censorship rules are being doubled down on. Btw, I don't mind learning about TCM, but it comes up a lot in the drama. I also feel completely nonplussed by the romance. It just doesn't feel real between the characters at any point, unlike First Frost, which is shot in a similar way, but the emotional hits land every time. They actually feel like two people falling in love.
As for what you said about the actress... I must be desensitised by all the C/K-dramas I've watched because I didn't notice her being thinner than usual. I've known women who can't be more than 50-55kg called fat in China and Korea. The male actors are often thin, even underweight as well. But it's seen as the norm, and unfortunately, I don't see it changing any time soon.
Someone in the comments said the writer had a sacrifice kink. After the last episode, I second that. I mean, the solution can't always be 'I don't want you to die, so let me go in your place'. And MJ... I adore him. But come on, dude... let her go. She's miserable. The solution to saving your depressed aunt isn't killing yourself when you're the only thing she's been living for. :O. At this point, I'd love to see a more level-headed reaction just for a change of pace>MJ could bring everyone together, and be like, I don't wanna die. I don't want my aunt to die. Solutions, anyone? (Meanwhile CM is in the corner yelling that she wants to die).< And if they can't work out a solution, I say we start sending all these Fox clan members who are so eager to throw someone else under the bus up for elimination. Now, that's a twist xD.
