Turbulent times drama is painful
LIKETowards the end, story was extremely depressing. Understand this was due to wartime but still too much for one to absorb.

I'm not sure why the some scenes needed to be cut off. Like an entire dialogue was supposed to be five minutes and everything ended abruptly in thirty seconds. Seriously?!

Slice of life happens to almost everyone
LIKEThe growth of a small family at the epilogue of each episode.
When Gu Jia's father talked sense into this young girl who tried to come in between Gu Jia and Xu Huan Shan.
When Gu Jia faced off those parents who mistreated her child (that scene was great!).
DISLIKE
I feel like Zhong Xiao Qin was overly dependant on her partner.

Different style of political drama
LIKEEnjoyed watching the modern version of political struggle especially with my favourite actor Jung Woong In.
It's funny to see Im Won Hee being all serious here and I like Kim Gab Soo too.
DISLIKE
All good actually as there are many veterans here.

Waiting for season two please..
If you have watched the anime version which is still ongoing, then do lower your standard for drama version. Drama version is more compact and skipped quite a lot of nitty gritty and straight to the main story. I have not watched the anime but my hubz is watching it so I kind of peeped at his screen at times. Lol..LIKE
Everything as this is Wu Xia mixed with fantasy and I love the story about soul masters, soul beasts and soul rings. Everything soul interests me.
DISLIKE
40 episodes are too little for this amazing drama while some crappy ones get 70 episodes?!
I remembered cursing at the last episode as it ended too soon.

Rated standard five stars as not even one song is to my liking though there are Lala Hsu and Liu Yu Ning. *rolled eyes*

LIKEThe efforts put in for those action scenes.
I enjoyed watching Jo Dong Hyuk (loved him from Bad Guys).

If not for the action scenes, I would have rated a five for story as it was pretty okay.

Scriptwriter is insane always torturing the characters.. constantly being accused and they suffered so much
This idiot Liu Chang everytime bringing danger to Mu Dan - he knew it but still continue giving her trouble
Some of the hairstyles just ugly I cannot take it
Second half kind of boring same old revenge cliche fast forward from episodes 18 to end
