I understand what you mean. The plot is nothing new, the pacing is also not very entertaining. However the production…
New information is given with each epilogue. The way they show the new information is done well. What I find predictable is that I can tell now, during which part of the episode they'll show us these new twists. Usually once in the beginning to keep is hooked after the cliffhanger. Then some light sweetness in the middle. Lastly another new twists at the end. When I know a twist is coming, it doesn't feel that exciting anymore. Even if the information that is given is new like: - The underlying reasons for their actions.- Showing that they never stopped loving each other. Or Yoon Eun Sang or his mother do something crazy again. Or like last time with the chairman dying.
But like I said before. You have the right to disagree with me as I have the right to my own opinion. I bid you good night.

I see there has been a misunderstanding ^_^What I personally meant with nothing new, is that this drama follows a lot tropes I have seen before. Such as:- Cold rich character falls for Poor capable character. - Cold rich character's family hates Poor character. - Someone wants to take over Rich character's wealth. - Rich jealous side character is cruel to the Poor character. - Poor character sacrifices and suffers a lot in the name of love. - Cold Rich Character is actually misunderstood due some childhood trauma.
In my nine years of watching k-dramas I have seen a lot of kdramas that follow what I mentioned above. To name a few:
1. King The Land 2. Fated to Love you 3. What's Wrong With Secretary Kim? 4. Boys over Flowers/F4 5. The Heirs
I'll admit and acknowledge that in this drama the roles are reversed. There is a female rich character and there is an added terminal illness. However to me, the plot and structure of this drama feels very similar to the dramas I have listed above.
Don't get me wrong, I adore Kim Jiwon, Kim Soohyun and all the other cast members. They are all really talented and good at their job. With this I mean that they portray their given characters really well. The production is also very nice and there some beautiful scenes and OST's.
The pace and structure of this drama just feels very predictable and this is my personal opinion. You guys may not agree with me and experience this drama in a very different way. That is completely normal. I just hope people can respect it when I say, that I personally do not feel the same. After all we're all different human beings with each a different perspective and experiences.
(I also want to mentioned I wrote this down in a sleep deprived state. If one has a legit counter argument, I am willing to correct my statement. If it's a difference of opinion, I'm afraid we'll just have to agree to disagree.)
soooo....what's the hype about? the writing is alright but nothing groundbreaking so why is this so highly praised?…
I understand what you mean. The plot is nothing new, the pacing is also not very entertaining. However the production is good and it has a stellar cast. The acting by Kim Jiwon and Kim Hyun Soo and the supporting cast is done really well. That said, I don't like there is a cliffhanger aalmost every episode and that there only a few lovely moments between the leads each episode. One can see where the writers want to go with this story. What's keeps it entertaining the little snippets of information we get each episode during the epilogue which changes the narrative of the existing story.
Both leads are respectively very solid actors who have great chemistry alongside whomever they act. (See Jung Ryeo Won in Wok of Love and May It Please the Court. Plus Wi Ha Joon in Little Woman.) On top of that, the older woman and younger man trope is one my favourites. The chemistry sure is going to be fire, I can't wait to see it!
I’m really hoping it has a least a season 2 if I’m honest! it’s so much fun!
It really is! I'm so curious about the lovestory of Detective Park and the adorable Kyungjin. Both deserve more scenes. I would love to see Kyungjin's girlfriend's face and also bit more background information of why the both of them became a cop/detective.
I know it's such same. Now Isoo has lost both of this parents. Personally I wouldn't be too sure about Mr Choi. But it's as many suspect he is a bad then, Isoo's story would be too heartbreaking. This poor dude lost so many people who were supposed to protect him.
I wouldn't be mad if there were multiple seasons of this drama. I really enjoy watching these characters, the way they're written plus the good production. It's my favourite of all the currently airing dramas.
