Wow, AJTL. Good show but I stopped at episode 36🤨Joy of Life 2 is still my joy of life😜. Creation of gods…
I am enjoying AJTL do far. I do love wuxia dramas, but that's not the only reason. I'm enjoying the silliness. Especially since most of the themes are on the more serious side.
The Blood of Youth is on my list as well. I started it a while back and I absolutely loved it, but with my amount of patience I needed all the episodes to have aired. Then I got lured away by other dramas 😝
Dark, disturbing and very sad. I watched this on a whim with no prior knowledge of the plot at all, so I went in without any expectations. It was an interesting movie.
This is confusing, you can only get DID in early childhood from extreme trauma. Even if you say she got it as…
Did the summary change? It looks like she got it through some kind of trauma related to her brother and there's no mention of her getting it when she became an adult.
I'm glad that you mentioned "world building". This was bothering me for a very long time. Like if I was watching…
World building was indeed the biggest issue for me. There's a lot there, but it feels like we're not told enough. Obviously, I don't need to know absolutely everything (it's impossible in a drama of 39 episodes), but I was left with some unanswered questions and some of them were (at least for me) important. I shared some of my questions here and luckily people shared their views and opinions and it did end up helping.
This plot is a cliche in novels and works well. Gui Nv and KP was based in rebirth novels.
I suppose the problem is repetitiveness, right? If they all start following the same structure and tropes, they are no longer interesting. In that case, what makes the story will be the characters. If the characters are interesting and fun, then you will still be able to read and enjoy it.
I'm glad I waited for the whole drama to finish airing before starting this one, because this is definitely a drama to watch at your own pace.
Does this drama have flaws? Yes, like all dramas out there it has its flaws. Is it still a great drama? Absolutely!
Obviously that assessment is subjective and personal. For me, the flaws weren't substantial enough to affect my enjoyment of the drama, but I think they should be mentioned:
- First of all this drama has some pacing issues - In terms of world building, I was left with some questions that were not answered - I didn't like the use of animal abuse as comedic relief
That being said, there were so many things that this drama did right:
- I LOVED the two main characters. The two have great chemistry together and I liked how their relationship developed, but what I loved the most about them is that they're individually interesting characters. Their love story is just part of their journey. - Visually, this drama was an absolute delight, which is to be expected from a high budget drama. - The music was beautiful - I loved the battle scenes. Especially the ones with Shen Li. They were very dynamic. - I ended up liking a lot of the characters and would have actually liked to have seen more of them - I LOVED the last two episodes. I was left with a huge smile on my face.
I would definitely recommend this drama to anyone hesitating to try it. I would have to add that the drama shouldn't be dropped before you finish the first 8 or so episodes, because the story only actually starts after episode 6.
Also, it's nice to see new people discovering this drama.

AJTL has a sad ending right? Is that why you stopped at episode 36?
I'm currently watching A Journey to Love (I know I'm late 😋)
