I haven't started this series yet since I'm waiting for it to finish first, but it does make me very interested based on your comments. I'm a lesbian, and the GL series have issues sort of like a lot of the fairy tale BL you describe. We need more GL/BL that aren't so sugar-coated and sanitized. Unfortunately, the GL industry is far behind even the BL industry in this. We don't have a Bangkok Boys GL equivalent lol.

You understand! The novel wasn't completely focused on the romance either, it had a lot to do with the stuff happening in the village. We're about to hit a changing point in the story, it's moving along nicely.
