This is exactly what people did when Thailand adapted JBL so why expect anything different? Just look at how MLMU got torn to shreds. It’s inevitable that people will compare 2 adaptions of the same source material. It’s up to you if you let it get under your skin or not.

It’s lacking, that’s for sure, but it’s not bad. I still think it’s fun to watch as long as you adjust expectations. Plus there are plenty of people who prefer this version and while I’m not one of them, I still think you should give it a go and see if it’s enjoyable for you. at the end of the day it doesn’t have to be at the level of the original as long as it’s still entertaining.

I've been so conflicted on if I should watch this or not and I really can't decide. The comments have me quite scared.

Hm, it's a little hard to explain to someone not used to the genre. I'd recommend watching a trailer for it.
