I've been watching Cdramas for years now and Yang Zi is one of the very few Chinese that has convinced me that she's in character. It's not only me, even industry experts recognized it. If you completed Immortal Samsara,I believe this wouldn't have been your comment. The oath of love,I get the FL was annoying till the end but it's not the same with Immortal Samsara (I even refuse to understand why people find it a problem about an actress or actor picking similar roles but oh well,we are different). I feel the reason why Yang Zi roles feels similar to viewers is because (from what I've noticed) her dramas has to do age gap whether in modern or in historical (Go Go squid, Immortal Samsara,The oath of love. I don't know of Ashes of love like I said) Chinese likes to potray young girls in dramas to be really young and she's doing a good job at that and thankfully she's not going to have that kind of trope in her upcoming dramas(Lost You Forever and Stories of youth and love). So I think you should try watching her other dramas like The psychologist then you'll see for yourself that her acting is not crappy. Back to Immortal Samsara,it was the leads’ acting that carried the drama. If the roles were given to other actors,it would just be a dead one because the plot is tropey
