I don't know how I would start this because this is the very first historical drama I would leave a review for. This is more like an appreciation post because I would also leave a review when I'm finally done watching and rewatching all episodes. I appreciate everyone in this thread that made it lively by dropping thoughts on each episodes, dropping BTS clips etc. my journey with IS was really rocky 😅 but fun. this is the most memorable drama I've watched because I had some of my first experiences with this drama. Historical dramas in general was my worst genre and I had deep hatred for them most especially their fantasy genres just because I hated the way they ridiculously flew without wings and I wasn't a fan of their costumes and makeup🥲.I started getting a little interests in historical dramas when I came across Ashes of Love AOL on TV. As a matter of fact,I started watching AOL from episode 16,I didn't start from the beginning but it managed to catch my interest. although I didn't end of finishing it because of my busy schedule, I knew that historical dramas can actually be interesting and there must be something special about them for people to be so crazy about them than modern dramas.I decided to give other historical dramas a chance and see what most people are enjoying and talking about it. I went for the hyped dramas of this year,I tried watching Who Rules The World because of Yang Yang and Lusi but It failed to catch my attention so I dropped it in the first episode. I tried watching other Xianxias and wuxias but all seemed boring to me. This summer came and the trend was Love like the Galaxy(LLTG) ,I didn't think twice before downloading the first 15 episodes 😭😭😭 I forced myself to get to the 7th episode before I gave up. When Immortal Samsara started airing,I decided to watch it because I knew Yang Zi from The Oath Of Love and her other dramas I've watched. I downloaded only the first episode because I didn't have much expectations for it as I had been dissapointed from other dramas. The first episode of Immortal Samsara caught my attention and I found myself downloading more episodes to watch. IS is the only Xianxia I've gotten much involved with. Yang Zi became my favorite actress from Immortal Samsara because she convinced me that she always sheds light to any role she takes and I admire her for her efforts she puts in acting. This drama is my first of Cheng Yi but he managed to get me deeply interested in him. I can't say he's my most favorite actor because I haven't gotten to know him well from other dramas like Yang Zi but I could say that he's indeed one of my favorite actors and I'm really looking forward to him rising higher in his career. This is the first historical drama I would watch while it's still on air,it's the first drama that would get me so involved with everything and everyone related to it,it's the first drama I've ever watched that would bring out tears from my eyes. I've never gotten emotional for a drama because I know whatever is happening is not real and I haven't cried for even movies based on a true life story...that's how hard it is for me to cry for a drama but Immortal Samsara really surprised me😭😭my first tears for a drama dropped when Yan Dan first sacrificed part of her lotus heart. i was really surprised but I couldn't help it(I'm even crying now as I'm remembering that scene😭😭😭😭) throughout this drama,I've had heartaches, headaches and even neck pains😭😂😂(thanks to MDL and their poster!😅). when I saw the spoiler of the ending last week,my family worried about me because of the loud cries I made😭😭I still can't believe that I cried for a drama that is just scripted!!😭😭 WARNING:This drama would bring a lot of tears to you if you're really interested in watching it👌 The only good thing Youku and HR did was casting Yang Zi and Cheng Yi in this drama or this drama would have been a flop since it's seen as a typical genre. The top notch acting from each and every actor casted in this show carried this drama. I can’t argue with those long time fans when they say that this drama is typical but I can boldly say that this drama was never predicting. Nobody expected this to have a sad ending and nobody expected this to have a happy ending after a sad ending 😂😅 Immortal Samsara is really one of a kind.It was able to stand out among other dramas and still be the top 1 summer drama of this year despite the fact that it was typical👌no CP promotions was done and the drama leading lady,Yang Zi encountered a scandal while this drama was on air but it still made history. Yang Zi didn't like the script and her fans boycotted it but yet, it's still breaking records💜💜 Agarwood like crumbs aka Immortal Samsara is not only my best Xianxia ever but the most memorable drama to me. thanks to this drama,I encountered a lot of things, both good and bad.my first cry for a drama,my first fan war experience and my first online friends.Special appreciation to BOREDOMFIX 😂😂😂for making me go back to MDL. I had an account on MDL since last year but I wasn't fond of it. when I read on Facebook that there was a fan war going on in IS’s page,I had to log in to know what's happening because it was my first time of hearing of fanwars going on between international fans. I became an everyday user on MDL and I grew fond of the fans of the here to the extent I was really worried about what's going to happen when IS finishes but thanks to @chase_kayden who created a fan group outside IS😊. So far, my favorite characters 1. Yan Dan 2. Tang Zhou 3. Ying Yuan 4. Daddy Xuan Ye😍 5. Lu Ming 6. Yu Mo 7. Ying Deng😂😂as many may disapprove with it,I actually liked Ying Deng because she perfectly nailed the role of being an annoying lamp b*tch👌 8. I don't really keep names in my head but I also liked the turtle because I found him cute😊. My favorite arc is the mortal realm because that's where the fun of this drama was. This drama made me cry and laugh and that's what I would never forget. This drama is one of the dramas I would never forget. I'm not saying a goodbye to this page yet because I still have to give a review on the drama itself on MDL. I love this drama and I give honor to the top notch acting of the casts. I'm looking forward to their future projects.
