“A young man caught up in revenge… Revealing the character from REMEMBER”
In-gyu, played by Nam Joo Hyuk, is an ordinary young man in his 20s who works at a restaurant with Pil-ju (Lee Sung Min), who unintentionally participates in Pil-ju's revenge. He is suspected of the crime due to CCTV footage taken at the scene by accident after accepting Pil-ju's proposal to pay him enough for part-time work if he helps drive him around for just a week. Pil-ju, whom he has a friendship beyond the age gap (aka Freddie and Jason), is nowhere to be seen, and every situation where he drives got more confusing. Nam Joo Hyuk shows various emotional changes in three dimensions through In-gyu. On top of that, after being deeply involved in his revenge, he constantly asks questions and conciliates Pil-ju, replacing viewers' curiosity, tension, and empathy, and increasing the immersion of the play.
Nam Joo Hyuk said, “I was attracted by the fact that it was a character I had never done before. The process of expressing various changes in emotions in a situation where I was caught up was interesting.” he said. Director Lee Il-hyung also raised expectations for Nam Joo Hyuk's character of In-gyu, saying, “He expressed a rich character of typical young people in their 20s, and made a good friendship and best chemistry between Pil-ju and In-gyu beyond generations.”
“Broken car… Blood on my hands… A pistol... Why am I here?”
Han Pil-ju (Lee Sung Min), a brain tumor & Alzheimer's patient in his 80s. During the Japanese colonial era, he lost his family to the Pro-Japanese groups. When his wife died, Pil-ju tries to take revenge, which he had planned for more than 60 years.
He asked In-gyu (Nam Joo Hyuk), a part-timer in his 20s who became his best friend at a restaurant he was working at, to help him drive around for a week. “Was he always like this? What is it? Is he the one who washed the dishes with me?”
In-gyu, who followed Pil-ju without knowing the reason, was exposed to CCTV at the first multiple sites and was pointed out as a prime suspect.
The police narrow down the investigation network and while fighting the fading memories, Pil-ju continues to take revenge...

Nam Joo Hyuk Explains How His Emotions Are Linked To Scents And Expresses Desire To Play New Roles
Nam Joo Hyuk has teamed up with Singles magazine for their 18th anniversary!
The model-turned-actor professionally immersed in the atmosphere and awed the staff with his ability to lead the photo shoot.
During the interview, Nam Joo Hyuk, who posed with Post Essay Fragrance, shared his love for scents. He commented, “I usually stir up my mood through scents. Depending on my emotions of that day, I spray cologne or use a diffuser to subtly fill the space with fragrance. There seems to be nothing more effective than scents when you want to refresh yourself.” He added that he uses scents when he wants to relax before filming or suddenly change the mood. Nam Joo Hyuk mentioned his acting career by remarking, “I want to show a different side of me with a character that I’ve never played before.”
LOL not true! He's getting so much praises & loves for his performance, his name is everywhere these days be it in variety shows or character appearance in ongoing drama, rookie actors are idolizing him, expressing their wish to play someone like "Baek Yi Jin". He's busy as BA of luxury brand, his upcoming movie with veteran actor is coming soon & in talks for new project "vigilante". What he has achieved in 28yrs along with his immensely global popularity, we're beyond proud of him & he'll continue to make us proud.
P.S: NJH fans aren't active here in MDL. Updates regarding him can be found in his twitter & insta fan pages:)
so that another person would be able to use it even if they don't have money, with the hope that it might help someone connect to their close ones in times of need, just like he got to hear heedo's voice and comforted himself to move ahead in life.
I think the shop is more about the memories about her friendship and love. They were the first friends she made…
2521 is meant for YJ & HD that's for sure as the 1st trailer of the drama started with the line "at 18-22 we took each others' name & at 25-21 we fell in love" featuring the YJ & HD. Also in the drama synopsis in TvN website the division of four time frames is set according to YJ & HD's dynamics only. There wasn't much narrative on what exactly HD & YR chatted for 3 yrs except the info that "they chatted", but its exactly YJ & HD's journey & build up of their dynamics that has been on focus since epi 1. If it wasn't their journey, the writer won't have focused on their relationship build up. Other friends' are part of their journey that's what I understood.
It’s a nasty mind that sees something ugly in HD & YJ's relationship. Love is NOT equal to sex. There isn’t anything sexual in their relationship yet and it’s important for society to acknowledge that men can love deeply without lust/sex at the top of their mind. Why is the age difference the problem if he respects and loves her? He’s hardly a cradle snatcher. The context of this drama is set in 90s. Age of consent for sex is 20; I don’t think the laws regulate what age they get to say “I love you”.
"Twenty Five Twenty One is a drama in which the professional efficiency of the so-called '작감배' was 100% demonstrated. ‘작감배’ is writer, director, and actor/s which are three elements that viewers can trust and see. Kim Tae Ri's lines & facial expressions are "the king of cheerfulness" Hee Do herself. Nam Joo Hyuk looks more complete in the play than ever before. Multiple emotions are overlapped with one eye, forming an effective sense of immersion. Two actors with no similarities create the best chemistry with one acting skill. Twenty Five Twenty One presents a grueling image during IMF, but trials and hopes were put together appropriately, leaving a pleasant aftertaste at the end. As a result, it makes viewers feel the podium of youth as an absolute positive value that does not crumble in the times. Hee-do and Yi-jin’s soft love, drawn between the shattered dreams, evoked perfection in their love line by Yi-jin confessing “I love you” without detour. There is only one thing to say to this work that has reached the end. May it be the same until the end."
