I think in the US, the child can have any last name, but it is not the father who is on the birth certificate, but the maiden name of the mother on the birth certificate or the application to that. That is what I remember. May be things have changed now. Don't know.

I am with you on this. Not only did she keep it a secret, she dropped the kid off at the new wife's house like a package with a child - knowing fully well he married and going to start a new family. I truly wish the writer write sensible fiction. This one is ludicrous.

FL getting pregnant was the icing on the cake for FL mother with her son having a child (from her ex) , another with the current wife , and probably a dissolution of marriage / marriage fraud.
The ML pining for a friend who does not want him any more than a friend. The FL dragging her feet on wanting him more than a friend, but unable to say so and ticking him off; being pregnant and being promiscuous without a care in the world or any responsibility.
I hope and wish FL has a miscarriage before she gets to tell anyone.

My thinking is that Jina 's mom is no loving / caring mom either - (Just like When the phone rings FL's mom). An egotistical opportunist. I think their (Dodo group? If you look at it, both leads don't have families - ML is just a brought in by the grandfather for the rust to not be found out. FL - still has a father who is loving ; but the mother is not her family anymore - since she married. Most mothers are caring towards their own kin, but not FL mom - she is just an opportunist to save her own skin.
