first of all, pond and phuwin need acting classes. they seem like nice guys irl but their acting needs a lot of work. to add insult to injury, the plot makes zero sense. jojo is great at writing what HE KNOWS. messy people doing bad things, imperfect people coming together, cheating, betrayal, drama but i'm sorry he can't write a mafia-themed bl and he cannot write romance the way aof does... when he tries to, it comes across as insincere. it's not like he's bad at what he does. the warp effect is a great show but he isn't good at this particular genre. on top of that, perth outacts everyone in this show by a long shot. he has very few scenes and his storyline compared to the main characters is very simple and uncomplicated but he still manages to get more emotion out of me than the mcs. even though, they cut perthchimon scenes, i have to say they WORK. they have chemistry and with a few workshops, they will be great together. i mean chimon was splendid as wave in the gifted and perth is.... perth.. i don't agree with people saying that this show has ruined PC for future series. i am worried about PP's future tho. will we continue seeing them as main leads when they can't even act ? this is the condition of bl today. while we have actors like mix, billkin, perth, yinwar, apo, firstkhao who can definitely ACT... they are outnumbered by actors who are below average which is concerning. but because i can see that PP actually somewhat like acting and want to improve, i will give them the benefit of the doubt. at least phuwin has the potential to get better. surprisingly, phuwin is not that bad as ice in the warp effect which is prolly cause he isn't the mc there.
and it's such a shame because this show had such an interesting setup but ultimately, failed to deliver anything other than visuals.
i wasn't gonna watch this but my nevertheless loving, masochistic ass gave into the temptation and i started it.
first of all, a bank setting is definitely a..... choice because banks are boring? usually kdramas deal with interesting professions and we have lawyers, doctors, athletes as the main leads. although, ofc there are great dramas which deal with mundane office workers as well but a bank setting is definitely a bit boring especially when almost all of the drama takes place inside the workplace. thankfully, i was able to get through that.
this drama is weird for me. i don't really like it but i don't hate it either. i don't even know why but something about it gets me to 'invest' my time in it.... see what i did there? anyway, i kind of really like the FL. she is definitely not the kinda main character we are used to. even in nevertheless which is an unconventional romantic kdrama, the FL is meh.... like she is just a blank canvas you can project yourself onto but in this show, the FL has a personality and her own character traits. i like her even though most people don't but you know what? when you like an FL who is mostly hated by kdrama stans, you know she is an amazing character so yeah... the ML is just alright. he's okay... whatever.
wow that's harsh. i almost felt bad for him but then i realized that what you're saying is absolutely right. i think the reason why i don't feel bad for palm is because he has no personality or character traits whether good or bad. he's just there to serve neung and that's all.
