After all the gossip and ratings talk back to drama talk. One thing I'm unsure about in the drama is the conflict between Changxi palace and the demons compared to the novel. They've made a lot of changes which I like, a lot of changes have been really good and interesting, but something I'm still unsure about is the change they made regarding changxi palace. In the novel, WZ actually knew Shuang jiang previously, they had met previously and were similar to allies, he knew about her true identify. In the novel there was no major conflict between Changxi palace and the demon night market. So I'm unsure about this change in the drama where they are like Fire and Water with each other. Some may say it fits more with the taoist teachings and overall story, that its more suitable. Maybe it's the part of me that hopes for less misunderstandings and more ML and FL working together, but I'm unsure how I feel about this change. Regardless, really looking forward to seeing where it goes, I'm not one to judge too early, and either way it makes me look forward to the episodes to come! I wonder what everyone else is thinking so far? Personally, I feel conflict should be meaningful, lead to development or growth or something substantial, not just cheap angst or drama. I hope they resolve this conflict meaningfully. So far though I have faith, I believe the writing has been really good so far, just my opinion though.

The heat index is something that continually increase and decreases, never goes away while the dramas airing. It peaks when episodes airs and a couple hours after, but then decreases in between such as overnight and early morning. Will rise again when episode airs.

100% agree with you. He's nothing without 3/4 A grade actors that pretty much carry his business. Without them, he would be left with scraps.

Thats sad to hear honestly, like idk if it's true, if it is, cheating is never right, but it's a private thing, plus apparently happened 3 years ago. Should never effect a Xu Kai's job, especially when its a show effecting many other people. Should be handled privately, not all over weibo etc.

Really, didn't know it was that bad, thats sad to her. Toxic fans stopping two talented actors from acting together in a drama and even just being at the same event. Some fans are crazy like you said.

Wow really, didn't see that but sucks to hear that happened to you, and poor ZQ an upcoming talented actress getting unnecessary hate because of things in 2022 that may not even be true. And definitely, I think Yu Zheng as an agent representing Xu Kai has too much control. He's known for being a controlling agent, using shady tactics, many fans have begged Xu Kai and Bai Lu to leave him after he promised them both an independent studio during their last contract negotiations then never did it. But yeh, Xu Kai really needs a good lawyer.

Yeh 100%, the timing is so so sus, 3 years ago and only revealing now/bring it up again now. And I agree, I think in china agents and such just have more control, rare for actors or actresses to respond directly, even though I think would nice. At the same time, maybe him responding in person would give it more credibility, maybe better to ignore it but I hope it doesn't affect things too bad for the show. MDL ratings don't matter at all in china, it's fully blocked I've been told so have no effect. Just hope it doesn't affect viewership numbers in china.

Honestly, I think they would be great together in a drama now that she's more established, and Xu Kai has more experience as well (even though I think he's was great in arsenal military academy) but probs never happen because of toxic fans.

Heard good things about Burning flames, and I like Allen Ren but honestly, I can't take any more of his sad endings for historical cdramas, man needs to pick a happy ending for once.

Thanks to know, wasn't sure 100% if MDL was blocked, good to know. and I agree, old news from 2022. And Yu Zheng is Xu Kai's agent along with a bunch of other stars, I mentioned him in another reply to you. He does not have a good rep.

Yeh exactly, I'm not familiar with his past, but it might be the same. This actress Xu Lisha came forward accusing him of cheating on her in 2022 with the actress Zhao Qing from immortal ascension, saying he cheated on her in 2022 and released a bunch of photos and videos and everthing. Apparently it's blown up on weibo and he's getting a lot of hate. He's presented by Yu Zheng, same as Bai Lu, the FL from double and ML from wanted detective. Yu Zheng has a well known rep for being a snake, making promises and reneging and doing a lot of shady stuff, doesn't have a great rep in China, and this is Xu Kai's last contracted year with him, hence some conspiracy theories but all just guesses.

I myself don't remember the actor, don't think I've seen anything he's been in or at least don't remember, so looking forward to his role

Yeh definitely a cultural thing, I think china's more strict, but I agree 100%, cheating, while I never condone it, and its definitely bad, should be settled privately and never kill someones career. Also it's only alleged, and also apparently happened in 2022, like 3 years later this apparently comes out, doesn't sound weird at all.
