i hate MDL devs for not firing this Alice weirdo. My 10 yro sister would write better than her
In English, “dev” means developer, the people who write the code that makes the site work. For a site like this, they are almost certainly contractors and would have nothing to do with the people who write the news articles.

On The Dream Life of Mr. Kim Jan 31, 2026
The first thing you realize after finishing is just give Ryu Seung Ryong the best actor Baeksang now, there’s no reason to wait until the ceremony in May. Mr. Kim is a, well, a jerk. He mistreats his wife. He’s cold, he disrespects his employees. He’s a relic from another time, even within the context of SK’s hyper-competitive, paternalistic society. Yet you end up rooting for him. Does he change? Yeah a little. He’s humbled a bit. But mostly it’s Ryu’s performance that brings you to Mr. Kim’s side. One of the best I’ve seen in recent years.

This drama is, I should say, for grown ups. It’s for adults who understand what it means to have the responsibility and pressure of providing for a family. You cannot appreciate that element of Mr. Kim’s character unless you’ve actually lived it and my guess is the low rating (by MDL standards) is, in large part, due to lower ratings from younger viewers who can’t connect with him. Which is fine, it's just important to understand that many dramas are aimed at a specific demographic and we should keep that in mind.

On Diary of a Prosecutor Jan 31, 2026
A very good legal drama that isn’t a courtroom drama but more a slice of life with prosecutors. There’s no romance other than a small cute one between secondary characters, it’s mainly about their work.

I did feel sad watching it thinking about how much KDramas and the world miss the amazing Lee Sun Kyun. It was a bit of sad irony that he played a prosecutor with a heart and his loss was partly because of police and prosecutors without one.

There’s some hate for the FL from other comments and all I can say about that is I can guarantee if she were a male, nothing would be said.

Interestingly, later this year SK is finally reforming the prosecution service, splitting it into two and reducing the powers of the prosecutors, especially to initiate investigations. All the investigators you see in the show would now be a completely separate agency. There is also independent oversight being implemented to remove the issue of the prosecution service being their own watchdog, which is correctly pointed out as problematic by the show. The show actually did a good job of showing why the prosecution service is not well thought of, so much corruption and protecting their own. Diary of a Prosecutor doesn’t glorify nor degrade the prosecution service, it shows it in a realistic way with very human, very flawed characters.
