Mu Jie is Rong Xian and Ling Long's son and it seems to me that the weak water stone was actually used on Mu Jie so that he could survive. If we recall in Rongxian's resentment illusion Linglong died with the baby still inside her tummy. I'm guessing Ah Wu used that weak water stone to save Mu Jie and there's also one thing to point out, when he said that he was born weaker compared to the rest of the fox clan. It seems that the weak water stone is what keeps the emotion tree alive and thriving and in order to keep it alive, Ah Qi sacrificed himself to the emotion tree since the stone has been taken.

I'm seriously still not liking how Chong Zhao doesn't seem to be self-aware that he is hypocritical, one moment he says he understands Bai Shuo the next thing he tried to control her completely disregarding her will. I hope he moves on, Bai Shuo has always treated him as a mere friend or sibling ever since, even if Fan Yue is out of the picture, she already showed signs earlier that she doesn't see him in a romantic way. Thankfully, Bai Shuo is clever and saw easily through his plans and doesn't stand back down to set him straight.
