I totally agree with you on this one. Bai Shou went through the worst and most traumatic event to witness all of that horrible event, she is extremely damaged. Even if he did contribute to helping her, that doesn't change the fact that his intention was never meant to help her but to solely unlock her contemplation for his personal gains.

This is a completely new different story. The characters are adapted from ALP but that's just the similarity. These discussions might help you further understand the only similarity and connection both ALP & MM have.

Yes exactly that! Tantai Jin is a much more complex and darker character

He is my fave character too don't get me wrong, what I meant in general is how these characters were written. Tantai Jin is a evil god most powerful demon whereas Fan Yue is not a god but only a demon. The domineering aura is more suitable for Tantai Jin as from start he was depicted as most evil (which we know he wasn't eventually). In here, Fan Yue isn't depicted to be like Tantai Jin whose motive is to destroy the world. Here Fan Yue is only after the desireless stone's power and not about world destruction and stuff.

For those asking and wondering why ratings drop, please don't bother with earlier drama ratings. This drama has only been released yesterday with only 5 episodes at present. There are 9k viewers, majority of the viewers have not given their ratings yet. Final ratings should be the one that matters not the initial. It will eventually increase as the episode for drama progresses. The drastic drop in rating can also have to do with others downvoting the drama. Also, this drama is really doing well in china, it had set its own achievements there already, the heat index in iQiyi is closing in to 8000 too!

I think you forgot that Fan Yue had no intention of helping her save her father to begin with. He didn't even care about Bai Shou, when he gave her the plant, he was waiting for it to be a weapon for killing what he was aiming at is unlocking the first contemplation.

ikr this deserves higher rating but we will definitely get there others haven't rated yet, and this is not even the final rating.

Yes the one who save her and her sister is Jing Yuan (Fan Yue's god form), from what I know he lost all his memories which is why he became demon Fan Yue now and he has no memory of saving Bai Shou and her sister.

I don't really like his character he is acting self-righteous but he is selfish. He never understood Bai Shou. Not only did he lie about his whole identity to her throughout all the years when he was treated as part of their family but he also didn't seem to care much about Bai Shou's father.
