Not feeling it after the recent episodes honestly. I started this drama because I really like Ding Yuxi and Peng Xiaoran, but the former is overacting, and the latter is playing a childish stupid role. How am I supposed to feel touched over Ning Yu Xian's sacrifice when I'm too busy cursing the FL in my head for being stupid? Even I saw from a mile away she was going to get herself caught... she's even stupider than me. And why is she moaning and groaning about the Magistrate building being messy when she hasn't even entered it? Is she really the same person who enthusiastically tidied up the "Reflection Pavillion" on episode 1 29:00? And the needle that broke the camel's back... her asking "I never provoked anyone, why are they trying to warn/scare me?" with the coffin. Girl you're not the magistrate, how can you be this dense? 🤦🤦🤦Ding Yuxi's facial expression was actually the perfect response to that stupid line. I don't blame the actress. The scriptwriters & directors are at fault.
I really hope things get better. I really wanted to watch DYX (Tiger/Rose and Moonlight were soooo good!) and PXR, but this has been disappointing so far :(
Questions. As of eps 3 1. did miss wen really did confess her stabbing herself? Isnt she afraid that FL will get…
1. No, she didn't. The old maidservant confessed to seeing Wen stabbing herself, in order to make her punishment lighter (for hitting the FL) 2. He doesn't know yet. 3. His dad died because of the ML's dad, and the ML has been relentlessly hunting their "gang" for years. 4. You mean Lang? Not sure who Cousin Gue is. 5. According to everyone, yes. 6. Idk
Finished episode 2, and I love it. It's nothing revolutionary or extraordinary so far, but it's a cute drama with 2 of my favorite actors/actresses as the leads. Going to renew my wetv subscription so I can watch this in 1080p. My 3rd time subscribing for Ryan Ding lol
Anyone else absolutely love the opening? The song has a very "grand" sound to it, and the scenes are perfectly chosen. I don't see it talked about here, but it was literally the reason why I gave this drama a try haha. One of my favorite openings ever.
Honestly, I'm starting to really appreciate the open ending. In other Xianxias, the main characters always magically revive in the end, which 1. makes me think "oh, I cried for nothing???" and 2. takes away the emotional impact out of other Xianxias. When Ye Tan (and Qing Kui to an extent) died, it wasn't as emotionally impactful as I would've liked it to be because I always had this feeling that they had plot armor and would revive at the end anyway, no-thanks to the previous Xianxias I've watched in which this ALWAYS happens. This is how deaths should be handled imo. Give hope, don't flat out revive characters at no cost.
Honestly? I sensed from a mile away that he wasn't actually a bad father and was simply put in a bad spot as he…
He didn't want Ye Tan to go through the trauma, but he saw it as the lesser evil. If he showed love towards Ye Tan, then people might start a rebellion and the human realm would be in chaos. Likely result in Ye Tan's death as well.

If he showed love towards Ye Tan when everyone in the human realm was pointing fingers at Ye Tan for every single misfortune of theirs, they might use that reason to start a rebellion and overthrow the emperor (and kill Ye Tan). It's an unfortunate situation and there was no way to win here.
TBH I don't like how the writers decided to whitewash too much on Ye Tan's father, to even seem like he is the…

not me cheering on Yetan to drain everything out of that bastard and turning him into a green mummy and being disappointed when she didn't. what is this drama doing to me...
Wow, the drama was already very good before, but the latest 2 episodes made this my favorite xianxia of all time. If I were to go on about everything I loved about these 2 episodes, I would probably write an essay that no one wants to read, so I'll just point out 2 small but cute details that I loved from our favorite mom & son from the Void.
La Mu sort of set the bar high for me lol. His part was so good - the character, his story, etc. The 2nd soul shard was alright. Didn't really like the 3rd.
Is it only me, but I find the heavenly realm scenes a bit boring. Everything is white, feels kind of bland. Characters…
Yea. While I don't mind watching the main couple & the heavenly realm, I've seen too many heavenly realms (with the same white outfits, vibe, etc) at this point, so its the 2nd couple & void realm keeping things interesting for me.
I honestly had pretty low expectations when I started this drama (I've watched too many Xianxias at this point), but I'm actually really enjoying it. The comedy is quite well done and unlike most other dramas, the 2nd couple isn't boring filler. I'm actually just as if not more interested in them than the main couple.

oh wait... it's been over 1.5 years since it wrapped filming. Will it ever be released? ðŸ˜
