For those curious on what exactly happened to him ,and why this plus the sequel are called 一生一世美人骨,
he gets his bones removed while he is alive, for 3 hours. He didn't utter a word. The punishment is a real one, and the best practitioners could remove the main bones without getting any flesh on them. He traded his bones for a happy ending with his love (sequel).
There are so many holes in the story and so many unfinished plots, and she was so disrespectful with mental illnesses…
The respect part of this series was something that I kind of wondered what the heck are they thinking, especially as someone who counts as disabled, but the ending...I know I left a comment somewhere on this page...to me was fine.
I think this was actually a really interesting drama. The characters have growth, be it good or bad. The emphasis on decisions you make in life and the things you prioritize is really emphasized here, and I really think that made this drama feel fuller. No one was perfect in this drama, everyone had their downs and ups, and everything in between. I held off at episode 44 for a while, and just came back to finish it. I don't regret. Every character is true to their nature, and finds their own way. Some end up in some place we'd all rather not be, but everything is realistic with a slice of optimism.
