Hope you didn't pass this one, cause even tho it's not a BL, there's often hinted/suggested that their relationship is deeper. Take for example Zhu Hong saying "In your heart I'll never compare to Shen Wei" which could be taken as a platonic love, but also as romantic love since she was romantically interested in Yunlan and still compared herself to a man. If you still don't want to watch this, then I'd really recommend the novel though!
