The novel is reincarnation but the drama isn't because of restrictions concerning rebirth/reincarnation in china.

He was a bastard in the novel. She liked him in her first life but he treated her like shit and then karma got his ass in her second life where she didn't like him at all and then he went and fell in love with her so she treated him like shit in return. In fact she didn't care for him in her second life.

In the novel the age gap between ML and FL is 15 years but I think the age gap in the drama is 10 years.
