Folks can I watch this without watching season one? Season 1's plot doesn't interest me at all, but I wanted to tune into this season because of Kim So Yeon and the 1930s setting.

Sometimes I'm just weirdly reminded of what a terrible first episode this drama has lmao the rest of the show is amazing though.

Okay, this drama is honestly really unexpectedly good. I'm normally never into this 'a case an episode' supernatural mystery-solving genre, and while I'm still not into that as I'm watching this, what makes this stand out to me differently is definitely its lovable characters, the fantastic humor and of course, the bromance that I'm shamelessly having some ulterior expectations for. Honestly, this is a super enjoyable and refreshing drama that also deserves a lot more appreciation.

Such a sweet show that I wish I found out about after it finished airing because you never know with J-dramas...

I absolutely adore how heartwarming, endearing and romantic this story is. The leads are adorable, and you can't tell they have a 15-year age gap because of how well their personalities mesh together. Here's to hoping we get more romantic interactions between them because they're just lovely!

Oh, and extra props for the aesthetically pleasing cooking scenes. 25 minutes per episode just isn't enough.

This is definitely not my type of genre but I enjoyed watching the first episode more than I thought I would! The humor is on point, which is incredibly rare for me and while it felt a tad rushed, the ending totally piqued my curiosities and interest to watch the next eps. Hopefully I'll end up liking this a lot!

Reviews aren't something you need to agree with all the time. They're just opinions by other watchers, and everyone's got different perspectives. Personally, I don't agree with Kate's reviews most of the times either but they're well written, thorough and unbiased.

Something about this drama doesn't feel like a BL, honestly. It feels more like a coming-of-age LGBTQ film-esque series that's simple yet deep, soft yet intense. Cinematography is top-notch, and although the budget is probably quiet low, the production made sure the quality turned out to be crisp considering how other shows with higher budgets still somehow end up looking cheap and awkward.

I think this part of the summary is kind of misleading because the ML in this isn't actually 'cold'. Introverted, kinda I guess, but definitely not cold and rude like basically every other MLs in these c-dramas. I'd say he's a realistic high school kid.

I guess according to screenwriters or authors of chinese romance stuff, women find smart/genius dudes very attractive and what's smarter than your only hobby in life being stuff like coding and rocket science?

Lol finally. After all the fast forwarding, skipping, dragging, pushing, yawning at Ba Ram's so-called romance with San Deul (I'm glad he's dead honestly, one of the most uninteresting characters I've ever seen) and Jung Mo Yeon's self discovery arc being dragged through the mud, the first scene from ep 1 finally happened. Ep 49 felt the most eventful episode we had since the first 10 episodes, and I'm excited af.

Ba Ram scaring the living sh*t out of Ba Da in ep 49 was to die for, and I really hope she's gonna be as merciless and ruthless with her revenge as they're making it to be. Also, I don't get why she's mad at Tae Poong. On the bright side, I cannot WAIT to see them get married. Finally, things are moving well in this show now. The second half BETTER not disappoint.

I know everyone hates Kim Ba Da and she's SUPPOSED to be hated, but I can't help but find her purely entertaining and a little pitiful lmao. In ep 26, her surprise 'proposal' to San Deul had me laughing so hard. The way she's constantly trying to get her parent's appreciation by doing dumb sh*t just to fail and be compared to Ba Ram is peak comedy. I see a potential of a redemption arc for her, though. I honestly just think she's a broken person who only wants her parents to value her as their daughter, while treating everyone like crap because that's just how she was raised.

Hopefully by ep 50 then xD

I meant this part as Ba Ram is still only finding out the truth about her parents and hasn’t started the revenge yet

On episode 22 rn, and man I get more and more impatient for the revenge arc to start happening. I know that they're just setting things up right now and making Ba Ram/Seo Yoon slowly find out the truths so the revenge can make better sense when it happens. But I'm seriously running out of patience.

I feel like Seo Yoon/Ba Ram doesn't really like San Deul that much. I mean, they never even had a proper confession scene, instead, San Deul just announced that they were dating to others without telling her first. She did seem a bit flustered in that scene, tbh. I hope we get the revenge soon, because this arc is getting on my nerves a bit.
