I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. The characters are what they need to be for the plot. She's said many times…
omg! That sounds similar to what happened to me when I first joined. It was like a group of people swarming me because I said I didn't like something. It was crazy and it made me not wanna comment.
Anyways, I think this drama had a strong start. I don't know how close it is to the novel, but usually during this middle section(Episode 15-25) things tend to fall apart and I'm getting annoyed at the same problem solving, getting caught, being told off by the entire court(it's unfortunate that we haven't seen her mingling with any other ministers in the court that may have known something regarding her past. Maybe that might occur when more details come out.) Emperor comes to save us , then we have that sad moment, Main leads take a stroll on the main street, we lock eyes, BOOM something else happens. Why not craft each obstacle extremely unique; granted we are getting into the background story of the female lead(which should be a satisfying release to all this tension). But I think as of now we have about 12 episodes remaining so I'm hoping the execution is done really well. I don't know if they would finish this reveal in 3 or 4 episodes and then maybe by the end of episode 28/29 we see FL + ML getting married leaving the remains episodes about how they ruled together.[ hopefully it's done well] I can't wait to see FL outfit design for the wedding. It looks really nice in the poster.
Yeah I'm taking my time watching this though cause I'm not gonna get stressed out. It's going to piss me off. I just know.
You see I like to read the comments just to test the waters before looking at a new episode. Why is it when people don't like a certain plot twist or a specific plot line, share their grievances. There's this group of "elites/rotten chancellor" MDL posters who are just.... so SOUR.. responding to people telling them: not to talk bad about the drama, don't be negative, don't watch...Why not go live in PYONGYANG! is this not a comment section? Don't tell me we have rulers of the comment section. Some of y'all are really dizzy.
This is the most unhinged drama that I've watched in a while, and I love the bizarreness of the evil character. It's so funny watching him play this role as a deranged crackhead. Every character is unique, I gotta say Korean directors alongside the writers are something special.
Ok. No. Dropping this. Not my cup of tea. Too much talking politics and scheming old men. Emperor who holds no…
You see I thought I was a bit too crazy to think of the Emperor's portrayal in this drama as equivalent to PUYI from the Qing Dynasty. I honestly believe author the of the novel pulled stories from the northern Tang Dynasty, and also late Qing Dynasty. Creating an intriguing love story while highlighting the problems within the court during those dynastes. The portrayal in this TV drama doesn't get that message across the best.
Who trapped CZY in this drama production? He's a wonderful actor and portrayed the young emperor very well, but…
I agree. I also believe that this drama should've had a mature cast overall, similar to those older dramas from the 2000s. Every time FL and ML link eyes, I just imagine Meng as a cougar lol
what the hell.... Honestly, I fast forwarded through the whole episode because to me it didn't make sense; to let *that* happen to the 2 FL. It would've made sense if the person handling the wares and the food of her restaurant to fall victim because they would've been in contact with that drug.
I know it's for shock value but it gotta make sense... the whole situation story is already shocking! so why even overdo it with additional twists that seemed so silly.
I thought Zhili was preggers for the rotten chancellor...I could be wrong tho. Didn't care for Fu Zhi getting married but it's literally in her name lol.. what a clever play on the words. I feel like the chemistry is off, they should've been bro and sis for a bit longer without having to play into the 2FL raggedy daddy and stepmom. Ugh it pissed me off so bad.
FL...shoulve been learned self defense..I'm sad to see that scene..Where were her secret guards? .Then here go this stripper Situ with the fake niceness...you work with bad guys stop lingering around my good sis.
Honestly the drug bit is interesting as well. This guy would rather kill the masses instead of the emperor..and it's like everyone knows the throne is rotten besides the ML.
The ML... should've just killed everyone serving the court; since both sides believe that they should be on the throne. Jumping into this drama from the tenacity shown in Blossoms of Power is.... different. I was expecting the ML to be a futurist but since he's isolated by his own court, he really can't see past the actions of yesterday, and the drama of today, unfortunately. I wish we can see more of his strategic processes concerning the throne, as seen in esp 1-6. I do understand why every character has a dedicated narrative and world building coverage. However, we've only seen ML looking sexy, saving the day... last minute, getting jealous, screaming at the eunuch and not killing him.. obviously working for the enemy(o_o) etc. It's a great switch of gender roles but cmon....we want smart, sexy, and strong emperor while the ML is giving Puyi....
It's interesting seeing the mixture of the fall of the Qing dynasty and Northern Tang manifest within this plot. If you're a history bluff reading this, you should def check out the true lore so you can have a Eureka moment lol.
I heard the novel this was derived from is even better. With vivid.... language.... ;D
Are you talking about Ye Xian that she was too afraid to tell him she going to get marry?
ngl bro bro, you're the definition of weird for attacking OP on their self-formed interpretation of the ML. you must like to gargle a lot GULP GULP 3000
I ended up not finishing the drama, especially since the fight scenes lost their appeal; suddenly, the male lead couldn't fight or keep himself or the female lead safe. Watching "Adventures of Zhan Zhao" right after only highlighted these problems more.
