I love BLs that will make me paused a scene because it was too absurd or frustrating, the character is insane that I needed a socmed break every episode or watched the actor’s clips (or edits) of them being goofy, funny, wholesome to remind me that they are just acting, it’s just a character, that it is a great drama, so continue watching it.

As a fan of the kpop group, EXO, I noticed their group photo outside the bar, of course as a fangirl, I took a screenshot of it, then proceed to watch. After I finished watching the drama, I scanned my gallery and noticed the SS I took. I was laughing about it cuz of how random it was, then a thought suddenly came to me—that photo was from EXO’s Obsession era and that was in 2019 but the filming date of To My Shore was in 2025, so random, indeed. My point was, what if it was placed there ON PURPOSE, as it relates with Fan Xiao’s character, “Obsession” and when you play the song, the first lyrics you will hear is “I want you, I want you, want you” and it keeps repeating in the background, and the whole song, when you translate it to english (if you dont understand korean or the meaning), one of its meaning is about battling with your alter ego, an internal struggle that keep lurking in your head, fighting to escape with your inner demon, and when you read deeper about the song’s theory, you will know how awful and dark it is.

If too lazy to read and find the theory, by simply reading the english translation of the song, you can understand the point of the whole song, and thus reminds me of Fan Xiao, his issue with kindness, and how his and YSL’s story goes, it all made sense to me, mind-blown, I say.

I realized this hours after I finished watching TMS, and I shared it here cuz I believed they (production team) put that Obsession poster image on purpose to relate with Fan Xiao and (a hint for viewers) as a foreshadow for the later episodes, esp their love story! Well, this is my personal theory, so I am not entirely right, may be a coincidence—but this was too perfect for a coincidence, but I will believe that the Obsession Image Photo cuz it made sense HAHAHAHA

I want to point out something, just a little theory of mine, not really important, ig? but I still love to share it. This was during the gay bar scene—Fan Xiao invited You Shulang to go there to find a “man” for him.

And I love YSL’s character so much, he is so strong, mentally, and physically! he is also a smart person, and I love him for that. He knows his worth and won’t settle for less. I was truly happy when FX suffered a lot—half of the episodes, I think? cuz he deserved it. Not until I got anxious when the drama is ending but there is still no reconciliation of them, there were parts where I wanted YSL to forgive FX cuz I wanted to see YSL smile and be happy again, cuz as much as he deny it, when FX entered his life, it brought him joy but sadly it is with sorrow. FX’s character development came too slow and late, but I actually got proud of him for trying to change himself. Also, I got actually anxious for EP15, aside from the fact that it is the last ep, I got so worried that they might not give me a happy ending where they finally reconciled cuz few mins left, but there was still no sign of them being back together, but when that scene where YSL went to a store, bought an alcohol drink and a c0ndom, made me feel at ease cuz the long wait is over, they will finally be back together—and there I saw YSL smiling again. And the “my other half, my partner” and “my love” in the end? made me actually cry, cuz I feel like I have been with them, and now they are finally back!

BUT actually, I wanted an ending where You Shulang and Fan Xiao are dating again, cooking and eating together, sleeping beside each other, happy and contented, walking on the shore while holding hands, just them being a couple (or married) again and this time, with Tian Tian 🥹 LOVE THEM SO MUCH, their chemistry is insane! THIS IS A MUST-WATCH BL DRAMA—a very very very very red flag psycho mad man and a super duper green flag kind-hearted man who just wants to live a beautiful and ordinary life, not until a person who dont believe in kindness appeared in his life and ruins everything.

A 9/10 FOR ME! the lacking 1 is for my imagination ending, lols!

I honestly thought Hua Yong was the biggest super red flag bl character who enjoys manipulating, gaslighting, lying, acting, guilt-tripping, attention-seeking, possessive, obsessed, and victim playing I will know in this lifetime not until I watched To My Shore and meet Fan Xiao. This may be exaggerated but this was really my first thought when watching this drama—and I LOVE IT. So, let me yap.

First few minutes of EP1 made me shocked, boiled my temper, wanna punch, slap, and choke someone on screen—obviously, it is Fan Xiao. That was my entire reaction during the first scene when You Shulang accidentally hit Fan Xiao’s car—specifically, after YSL left. He literally throw the jacket HE PUT ON YSL’s SHOULDERS as he was disgusted??? AND called his assistant to “punished” YSL bec he wasted his time? DAMN. I WAS SO ANGRY AND LITERALLY PAUSED IT FIRST TO SCREAM AND PUNCH THE AIR—and I did it every episode, just what kind of a psycho Fan Xiao is? and his reason for every bad schemes he did to YSL made me 👁️👄👁️. He’s so annoying every episode (good thing the actor is handsome, it helps me calm and “enjoy” the drama) and I feel bad for YSL so much that I wanted to hug him, he doesn’t deserved it. He is too kind to experienced all of those :((
