Yes it's revenge for his family. His real father is General Huo. He watched his real father be murdered when he was a child and has been pretending to be his cousin. After his aunts passing. It pushes him further and 3 days before their wedding he massacres the entire Ling clan. He will start going by his real identity afterwards as HBY instead of LBY. No CSS and him only love one another. She got engaged to YS because the Empress wanted to see her get married before she passes away.

In short CSS breaks off their engagement because LBY chose revenge over her/their relationship. By seeking revenge he could have died. After the 5 years in the borders when LBY sees CSS he decides he can't let her go. At first he just wanted her to be safe & happy even if it's with someone else. He also helped YS because he knew that would be CSS next option but when he saw her again. It all went out the window. She never stopped loving him and eventually forgave him.

I wished they had kept the scene from the novel of the Emperor & Empress conversation when they heard CSS playing the flute for LBY. Oh well, there's only so much they can fit into the drama.

Wu Lei paired with Seven in Whirlwind/ Tornado Girl 1 & 2 when he was 16 but it would be great to see them act together again now that he's all grown up.

It'll definitely be a happy ending. During the live stream Wu Lei said the fans will be satisfied plus the novel. I'm not concerned about that. Just hope they are able to keep certain scenes from the novel. Time will tell. 🙂

I'm guessing around August 17ish somewhere around 45 -48 should be about right following the novel.

I know! They've done such a phenomenal job adapting it. I hope they've kept the key plots towards the end.

They definitely kept it from the bts and music video we can see some of the scenes. I think it'll probably only last 1-2 episodes.

I feel like the 5 years separation will be fast maybe 1-2 episodes at most. At least the last 6 will be after the 5 years. There's a few important plot after the 5 years. Empress passing, YS's family issues, LYT trying to ambush CSS, saving the CP just to name a few.

20 more episodes to go. There's still so much to cover. I wonder what they will keep in the drama from the novel. I predict the revenge & sadness will be somewhere in the week of August 17th.

She's such a sweet & compassionate character. It's hard not to love her.

The 5 years will probably take 2 - 3 episodes. It wasn't a large portion of the novel.

Her & CP will be demoted later. Empress will pass away after the 5 years from illness. That's why LBY is also summoned back prior to her passing. The scene by her deathbed in the novel is really touching. I'm sure they'll do justice in portraying it in the drama.

I've throughly enjoyed how they've adapted the novel. They've been able to stay true to the source while making slight changes to improve the drama.
