The cutting of the episode to introduce the scene where she met that guy at the bar is very choppy, the transition is too abrupt.
Also I felt like her knowing the defendant didn't bring much to the story it self.: at worst, a cheap ploy to show the ML getting jealous, at best nothing.
And why would she let him loosen her hair a second time in front of everyone again? Is that in line with her character?

Exactly. This kind of trope "I-break-up-for-your-own-good-and-don't-tell-you-why" is so overused...I'm surprised some directors/screenwriters still go with it
