Overall this was great. Amazing chemistry between Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Min-ho. Finally a Lee Min-ho I like! I really liked him in this. I guess he had the chance to portray a multifaceted character fun, cute, romantic, a little broken. The plot wasn't very linear at times for example I don't understand how/why his dad did what he did to his wife and son! Tbh though this didn't ruin the drama for me. I was just curious after watching. There was never a dull moment and I would definitely watch again.
This was a perfect drama! Or at least as close as it gets! Chemistry between the leads was amazing. Crazy but endearing and very hilarious female lead. I like that she takes the initiative. The romance was good but I loved the fact that it kept me on the edge of my seat. There was never a dull moment. I loved the ending as well. It was a bit more realistic. The whole cast was amazing!
Because it makes more sense for a woman to go back to and practically start cohabitating with cheating ex after…
To each his own I guess! In my case I watched the k-version first but I still gave the original a try. I try to be objective and open minded. As far acting, storyline and chemistry this was much better. I like good dramas period I don't care who did what first. As long as writers and actors do their job well I'm good ????
I loved this drama. Good chemistry. The leads were too cute together. It's not as shallow as the title and synopsis might suggest. Female lead doesn't automatically turn into a confident pretty woman. At first she still acts like an overweight ajumma then slowly she grows to be confident not because of her body but because she realizes her own value as a person. I was expecting a rom-com but I was pleasantly surprised when it turned into a mystery. Yes it did get draggy after episode 14 -15 but it's typical of melodramas and it wasn't so bad that I wanted to stop watching. I watched this because of Joo Sang Wook! I don't regret watching this at all. The overall message was good. I love that they brought back the first actress because I liked her too. I hate it when people don't apologize for being mean to my favorite characters: Halmoni, Tae Hee's donsaeng owed a massive apology to SaRa and Tae Hee. Even the inlaws apologized why not them too?
Why all the hate?? She's one of the few Korean actresses I like and actually remember! She was great in "sensory couple". People hate her for the roles she portrayed in bride of Habaek(tbh the drama was not good) and when a man falls in love. She was acting! it's not her fault that her character was nasty lol. I would really love to see her in a good drama like sensory couple!!
Ohmygod! Finally someone understands my perspective and likeness towards Li Jin's character. He had such a melancholic…
This! I fell in love with Vin Zhang in this drama too! He's so talented and I hope they give him better roles soon. I've been meaning to watch the King's woman too.. I'm waiting ti be in the right emotional state for melodrama lol
I will probably watch again! It's nothing special and way too long but I liked most of it! I think the cast made this show! Amazing chemistry overall! I think it's very rare to find a cast that's so in sync. Too bad it was so long because when TV-shows are too long the writers get desperate and start adding pointless drama and getting repetitive. It happens with American tv-shows too. This is why I prefer 10-20 episodes.
Omg Kim Go Eun ruined this! I like her but I don't think she is a good actress. Before this I had seen her in cheese in a trap and I think that's more suited for her. I didn't even remember her though I had liked the drama. Here she totally ruined a good plot and cast. Believe me it's hard to ruin anything with Gong Yu AND Dong Wook!! I loved the bromance though. The story was pretty interesting and would have made me cry but I just couldn't stand the bad acting(annoying voice, blank clueless expressions most of the time) I just speed watched it. I don't think I'll ever watch it again. My poor nerves will never be able to handle it!!
I am dropping this. I knew there was a reason I hadn't watched it before. As I started to watch it, and knew it…
Because it makes more sense for a woman to go back to and practically start cohabitating with cheating ex after years of not seeing each other like in original version.... By the way in this version it's not clear if he actually cheated on her and she was still a bit distant after getting back together with him. In original version he cheated on her then left her then cheated on her again after she was somehow practically living with him and she was acting like a teenager coming home late and yet somehow her parents blamed him(hello, she's 30not 13!) Da Ren is just a pushover who lets her do whatever she wants. In this version the relationship is more balanced and I like that there were times when she looked at him with so much love and times when he was the one looking at her that way. And she is not selfish she was there for him as much as he was there for her. In the original version it was mostly him pining for her. Her birthday gift was a bloody pen that she probably didn't even buy lol I could go on and on. .
Try it! I personally found the couple more likeable and they had more chemistry and screen time together which made their story more believable. I also liked their highschool clips better. Female lead was way more likeable than the taiwanese version and male was not a pushover like Li Da Ren. And I love the fact that they did not make her ex to be psycho paranoid cheating sleazebag and that she did not practically go to live with him like the taiwanese version. Seriously there were more hot scenes with the ex than cute scenes with Da Ren!! This version also took out or changed some really absurd storylines that are very unrealistic and typical of taiwanese dramas.Yes, it's a little slow(both are) but I didn't mind it... It only got annoyingly slow towards episodes 12-13. For me it was way better. I loved nigeru wa haji more than btimfl and I only found out about nigeru while watching btimfl and it was the first jdrama I fell in love with. So no, I'm not a diehard fan of kdrama.... I just love good dramas with good plots. My review is based on what I liked and hated. I felt the need to do this because it seems that most positive comments on Taiwanese version and negative ones here were by diehard fans of the actors. It makes me just as angry as when diehard kdrama fans were dissing nigeru because Hoshino Gen is not as tall and "attractive" as male lead in btimfl! Btw HG is attractive in the drama he was supposed to be insecure about his appearance so they obviously uglified him!
The only think I loved about this drama was the theme song!! I mostly hated the main couple! I hate how they lead people on and then act like the victims. I actually liked Maggie and her ex. I mean they were obviously threatened. I hate the fact that they had to make the ex such a horrible person for her to realize that she wanted to be with Da Ren. Female lead came off as bossy and uncompromising. Her family telling her that she should be with Da Ren because he let her do whatever she wants was infuriating!! The Korean version is much better! They gave a little bit more shape to their relationship and more scenes from their highschool years absolutely helped with chemistry!! I like that they did not make her ex the bad guy.. She just left him even though he really had changed(the only weird part was when she asked him to not go to Austria). Obviously it wasn't perfect but it certainly was a lot better than the original Taiwanese version. I loved nigeru wa haji more than btimfl so no I'm not a kdrama fangirl. I love good dramas whether they are Chinese, Korean, Japanese or Taiwanese. This was not good at all.
