hmm.. good for him. .. even then i will not call not showing smooch an issue.. the show was b'ful.. conveyed what it had to with all the feels.. that's important for a story

I agree on forward moving narrative, which is clearly there in the show, so i fail to understand your original comment.
I don't know what are you referring to as "common knowledge".
A story that captivated many, a story that is moving forward.. and yet you claim as whatever..
i don't think it is a problem with the tone of the drama but it is more a question of whether it engages you or not... a well told story will also not find audience in every single person out there.

No, there is no confusion. Neither in the manga nor the TV series. The writer has also clarified. Yoh moved in 4 months ago.
The comparison I have seen has mostly been about Hira and Yoh in how their personalities are. However, the essence of the story and the main focus point of the story are different in both cases. The other male characters in the relationship are not at all alike.
no one said only one diagram persists. Otherwise, take poetry, for example, you wouldn't have so many types... and even when the sacred rule of rhyme was broken. This show is not monotone or flat, but it doesn't have to go through intense troughs and crests because that's not the story being told.

Also, who says every story has to follow the fixed diagramatic approach you laid out. MPW is a story about 2 men in love , one of which doesn't even know/ realize he is gay...and them just not being able to communicate... this story is about initial phase of love .. when you are not sure about the other.. and navigating relationship until confession..
MBM is entirely different.. of two misfits.. popular and not popular (japan's fav BG trope)
i love this twist
This is super cool...
