I think people are confused about the recording - SPOILER BELOW, don't read if u don't want to clear it up

This is what happened


1. MIL was spying on MJ via her phone on which her secy had installed spy app. MIL released the sex audio

2. MJ/FL had bugged the cross and gave it back to ML in one of the earlier episodes

3. ML had aligned with his agency to initially bug FL- but ONLY ONE bug was allowed.


In ep 6/7 - FL was listening in on the whole conversation that ML had with his agency and government guys via the necklace and she ran away into the woods later. When her secretary told her about spy app on her phone that is when she realized that MIL had leaked the audio

There is one doubt i will raise in my theory

What i find IMMENSELY INTERESTING IS the choice of FL being a character who was with the other party before and married a man belonging to the other party.

Her and her husband's political perspective is also very different!

I am fairly sure that my theory is right, but i still want to wait out on FL's play!.... it will be a waste for her character setup ...and the minglings she comes with

Yes. But, this isn't just about current government. It is about political party never wanting S-N korea to resolve unification issue so that they can keep milking it as election agenda. Remember Junik's party hasn't come to power in long time..

this is basically conservative vs democrats in US. How biden's, obama's, etc government have always focussed on certain things vs dems

1. Two key things required to win this election - destroy opposition (either the philosophy o fthe party or the candidate) AND sway population opinion on unification in favour of your own party's philosophy

2. What happened - a) opposition candidate Junik is eliminated b) his strongest replacement will also be eliminated, FL c) in both cases setup is to portray them as NK spies d) Junik is eliminated while CHANGING and MOVING AWAY from his party's anti unification agenda = candidates and philosophy totally destroyed

Who benefitted? - USA comes out looking like warmonger, China not improving its image in the world as unreliable, NK coming out as pompous beating its own trumpet. Anti unification sentiments died down.

3. Stella young was very LOUD about buying submarine components and evidence too easily given to both US and that korean-american guy. NK n China have to be exceptionally stupid to do this.... MIL is stella young, that i had guessed early on... but she has this shipping business.. and she is not a NK spy...

I will put my money on Stella Young being forced into this ploy by SOuth Korean Powers.


4. President understands MJ/FL very well and how she thinks.. which is what was utilized is drawing out the ploy. The evidence to US and the evidence to korean american guy are from the same party because objective in both is false evidence based on pre-planned action of manufacturing TWO SUBMARINES - that can be videographed for two different set of EVIDENCES






Our president, her beauracrat team , her party - this is out an out ELECTION PLOTTING and DOUBLE CROSSING to make sure one wins election

Here, my theory and overall i think this entire script is basically a Internal South Korean Power Conflict ONLY. All other countries , agencies were just a red herring.

Presidential elections were coming up. Junik was extremely popular. Young South Korea was moving away from Korea unification as an election agenda which did not leave the other party with much options (because outside of that - inflation, corruption, unemployment, security.. etc would always be anti incumbent issue)

So, WHAT DO YOU DO TO WIN THE ELECTION - details below:

1.This will come down to South Korea's internal politics about power grab and not an international issue

2. South Korean politics in this drama hinges on ONE OPINION - party for peaceful union of two koreas Vs party anti reunion/atleast not deluded by peaceful part. Junik comes from later school of thought and was very popular, meaning South Korean public is pro anti reunion/ or no more hinged on uniting two koreas whereas the president comes from the other school of thought

3. Female president's agenda would be to hold onto the power - whatever this means in terms of appeasing the public. Or, if real power is with the bureaucrats then ruling party must be that who will follow what these bureaucrats want (e.g. NIS, blue house folks.. the specy guy with president)

4. Stella Young is PUBLICIZED as North Korean Spy - is she one, we don't know? Stella young starts procuring submarine pieces VERY PUBLICALLY SO THAT IT GETS CAPTURED in international world and fear of North Korea-China ally and a nuclear submarine catches fire which is BOUND to rattle USA. ---- Would north korea or china ever jeopardize that? NO. However, someone who wants to maintain the conflict between North and South and at the same time create the fear of nuclear war and hence a reason to NOT GO FOR WAR... would greatly benefit from what stella young is doing


5. Nuclear submarine rumour is floated with some credible evidence that riles USA. Another video is sent to only korean american guy stating submarine is false. He pursues it trying to get US to back off. SOMEONE MADE TWO PROTOTYPES of submarines. This hints that same party released both videos. Result of this korean amercan guy meddling is that Junik changes his stance to NO WAR- which is what the other party originally supports and gets killed . Political opponent destroyed. Someone would ofcourse replace Junik.. and setup is completed with the most strong candidate (because if strongest candidate falls then no other replacement can thwart the other party)

6. Same MIL is spying on FL despite nominating her for the political run. WHY? Because she wants FL to fail.


I am going to bet my money overall on South Korean politics - president and her party or officers who don't want North-south to ever unite. Junik was getting popular, was a favourite to win, young Korea was swaying away from political agenda of korea unification... and the other party - made up of old people- and with primary vision depending on unification as their election talking point... NEEDED AN OUT

100%.. the fact that ep 7 again stressed on MJ thinking about why she can't let go of her child and that man... that kid is 100% MJ's

it has been so long since i saw this explosive romantic chemistry between leads in a kdrama.. last was probably blood....

I think we are dealing with 2 spys - north and south. ML , likely is a south korea spy planted in north korea...

1. US orchestrating regime change - hits home. Nowadays CIA's nefarious deeds are talk of the global town.

2. Stella young is the hidden spy on the US side! the 10 years time frame matches FL's but given it is a female name, likely the person is a male

3. Client wants ML's terrorist group to spy and protect FL. Who will be interested in knowing what FL thinks when she has been out of political sphere?... Is there more to FL than being the straight forward story we have been given

4. ML has been following FL since her diplomat days.. so yea.. more than just being hired by a client or recently getting acquainted even if on purpose. His whole smitz seems like a long ploy (and i mean since FL's diplomatic days).. to be able to be around her

STELLA YOUNG - mother in law or family- someone who has a shipping business because the whole thing depends on having access to sea/international transport with least scrutiny... mother in law is also from the north i think... won't give her a clean chit either.. other than that only the terrorist group remains
