I am on 1st episode and had a high hope frrom the cast, but what the hel is this? wierd and unatural, feels forced…
Perhaps your expectations were for a standard rom com? This drama is intentionally campy and “explodes” drama tropes with the modern woman being transmigrated into a different era.
WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?!?! I can not get passed the 3rd episode; restarting it for the 4th time.....I dont get it.…
And that’s ok, maybe it’s just not your style of drama. It’s very tongue in cheek, making fun of a lot of drama tropes so you do need to view it in a more meta way to enjoy it (in my opinion).
I’m currently on episode 15 and honestly… I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much. So far I like the mix of…
Chen Xing Xu works so hard as an actor to design each character differently. Although he has earned a bit of rep for the CEO roles, I have never thought to see him as a CEO first and foremost. He always portrays each character as a real person, with their own struggles, habits and personality.
I am on ep 4 and I am struggling to continue. Does the drama keep the same vibe etc or is it changing? Not saying…
I would suggest to fast forward all the second lead parts and just focus on the main lead storyline. But yes, it is still campy but it segues into sweeter moments between the leads.
we just need to take a breath in between these dramasMy Page in the 90 was very cheap but outsold LBL x1.5 in…
The leads both really worked very very hard to market the drama on their own. And it was such a positive watching atmosphere! As opposed to Love Between Lines, where there was concurrent smear campaign against Chen Xing Xu and a marketing campaign to “promote” Dai Xu. It was truly nasty- anyone (even non-fans) who said anything good about Chen Xing Xu had their social media accounts flooded and reported and there was so much data suppression. I was shocked when I saw what happened on the Chinese social media sites.
This is such a nice drama can anyone explain me how gaohaoming enters into the real world or its just for ending
I’ll explain the theory that makes sense to me. The idea is that there are 3 parallel universes within the drama. In the first universe, Lin Huan’er has never met Gao Haiming; but the Gao Haining who meets her in the first episode knows her and has been searching for her. His presence sends her into the universe of the book where she meets the Gao Haiming who has never met her but who will eventually fall in love with her. After she gets sent back, Gao Haiming finds the pager, which continues to work in its fashion, but now giving him tasks to do instead. He has to live through his lifetime in the book before he is finally “released” into that the third parallel universe where he can find his Lin Huan’er, who still remembers and loves him. HOW does he do it? I have no idea, that part of it is just drama magic.
Is my post above taken as attacking her? That’s absolutely not my intention.I think information is important,…
My bad and my apologies. I’m just been consuming a lot of misinformation on the Chinese social media sites so I’m feeling tetchy to see the same stuff here.
I see some of the fans here being mean to Lily Alice. As for me I feel thankful to her writings (contribution)…
Is my post above taken as attacking her? That’s absolutely not my intention. I think information is important, but in this age of massive misinformation, it needs to be as accurate as possible. For example, it is misleading to portray this story as an adaptation and have a misunderstanding of what the stories and characters are. While the production has not released much information, MDL should not put wrong information down right?
Moreover, the MDL page on the show is wrong. This is NOT an adaptation from a novel but an original work by Cao Xiao Tian. The male lead’s name is Lu Xing Zhi, not Sun Ru Yang. Please correct this as I’m sure you would not want to be portraying misleading information on this site.
Hi Lily Alice, this news is inaccurate and doesn’t present the full picture. Poor Chen Xing Xu has already been a victim of a coordinated and concerted smear campaign since Love Between Lines, and the above “news” is also another example of this black marketing. If you truly want to make this news factual, you can add that neutral commentators have chimed in that there was a misunderstanding in what Chen Xing Xu said. The black hot search immediately put his words as “背”告, which means to memorize lines and would thus be interpreted as an insult to Li Yi Tong; but what he actually said was “备”告, which means to prepare a speech in advance. Chen Xing Xu has never been viewed as impolite or unprofessional in his 25 year career. It’s bad enough that he is being hounded on Chinese social media sites, I think that an international site like MDL can do better?
