This is so sad ..... Why would you take a BL story and turn it into a straight romance? I mean I am sure there are already countless straight love stories out there.

I just want to express my love for The Untamed here .. I still remember it like it was yesterday. It was 2020, and I was completely obsessed with period Chinese dramas. That’s when I came across The Untamed. I can’t believe I was so hesitant to start it just because I thought it didn’t have a romance but something about it pulled me in, so I thought, Why not? Let’s give it a try.

At first, I honestly didn’t even catch on that XZ and LZ were in love (Looking back, that was kind of dumb of me). I was watching it on Viki with the floating comments turned on, and someone mentioned that it was based on a BL novel. I was like, Wait… what in the world is BL? So I looked it up and that was the beginning of my obsession with The Untamed and an opening for a new world.

It holds such a special place in my heart. I’ve rewatched it more times than I can count. I went all in .... I read the novel, watched the donghua, and even listened to the audio drama.

The Untamed kicked off my love for bromance and BL dramas overall. It didn’t stop there ... I dove headfirst into danmei novels, along with manga, manhwa, and manhua.

I miss those days .... Wish I can go back and watch The Untamed for the first time again.

So sad that we won't get dramas like The Untamed or WOH again because of those homophobic f*ckers.

I’m on episode 11, but it’s hard to enjoy the bromance with the female lead and the romance constantly in the way. She’s always right there. 😂 But I will try to continue.

What can I say? I can't believe that it took me so long to start this series. I just finished it and I’m completely overwhelmed—I can’t even begin to describe how much it has destroyed me emotionally. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this attached to a drama, not since The Untamed. The story, the characters, everything about it was so good that I already miss them terribly. I wish it had been 100 episodes long or more because I never wanted it to end. I truly hope I can find something as incredible as this again soon! If anyone knows of another bromance drama this amazing, please recommend it—I need something to fill the void!

I totally get you! I’m on episode 7 of Fangs of Fortune, and the straight romance feels so forced and unnecessary. Does the bromance pick up more later? I’m hoping for some good moments!
