from what i understand tin's family is one of the branch family of the royals. they're not the main ruling royal family. their titles in thai get lost alot in translation when translated to english. basically tinn's title is 'mom chao' tinnakorn and his dad is 'phra ong chao' vasin. think of it as equivalent (or abit lower) to the marquess/marchioness title from the english royal family in terms of hierarchy which means his grandmother is probably cousins to the current ruling king (from the show's timeline; king rama vii) and holds the title of 'somdet chao fa'.
if there are thai people here can correct me if i'm wrong tho but basically this is what i get from a bit of research. their titles make more sense to the primary audience (thai people) and probably is why it's not surprising to see tin and his family just walking around like normal people in the streets.
