The characters for s2 and 3 were extremely under-developed with little to no proper backstories, motives and developments, it’s not about “not understanding cinema”, it’s about not liking something that’s poorly written and solely exists to promote a spin-off + if I remember correctly, even the director stated that he created s2 and s3 entirely for money and didn’t give it much thought

This show avoids showing extremely graphic content on screen in general but they do cover heavier topics like CSA and rape for a short period of time

I doubt it’s the mainstream aspect of it that people dislike (not speaking for everyone Ofc!), it’s the sudden shift from seriousness compared to s1 that genuinely threw me off. Visually, s2 is STUNNING, but most of the newer characters weirdly felt one dimensional and extra unrealistic (e.g. the existence of Thanos, everyone being overly enthusiastic etc.) not to mention the COMPLETE abandonment of seriousness throughout all the games
