I will not evaluate a female character positively if she does not deserve it, because I am also a woman and I should stick with women. This is nonsense. And here in this drama it is exactly like that. That is why somewhere below I wrote my comment and also negatively evaluated the character of the main FL. The scriptwriter did refer to some tradition in a given culture, but so what... this is not an excuse for her narcissism and admiration for her beauty and looking at men only from the perspective of their appearance. It is mega shallow and does not give a good look at this character. In the book it was supposedly even worse with this character who was staring at herself with adoration. No one likes such egocentric people focused on their appearance in real life, let alone in movies, so they are usually not liked characters. So I am not surprised that many people commented so negatively on this FL, they simply do not like such a character. And it does not matter whether it is a romantic comedy or not. Building such a character requires thought, if from the beginning she was so narcissistic, and adoring superficiality and wealth, then the author of the script should have given this character some better development and let her mature, so that she could look at a man not through the prism of beauty, but his heart... where is the deeper feeling in all this, if it is based only on external appearance?? That's why, when assessing the main characters, the ML character is better built, and the actor's acting is more mature... so it's no wonder that in this particular drama many people gave a very positive assessment of the male character... and it has nothing to do with discriminating against women or female characters in this drama! I'm on episode 6, but unfortunately FL has been an irritating character for me from the beginning... they want to show her as intelligent and wise, but she keeps getting into trouble because of her pride, that she has a smart plan and FL keeps saving her... she has an unbearable character, she is very distant from people and focused on what people will say, she sticks to etiquette... and she especially pissed me off when she expressed her wishes for her future husband in front of Buddha - HOW SHALLOW AND SUPERFICIAL AND EGOISTIC THAT WAS!!! According to her ideas, a husband should be beautiful, handsome, from a noble family, rich, brave, etc. all shallow and empty platitudes!!! This is how girls perceive men nowadays, this is a terrible approach and for me at this point this character lost interest in me... HOW CAN THE AUTHOR OF THE SCRIPT WRITE SUCH A SHALLOW AND TRIBAL CHARACTER!!! That's why they lack any chemistry, because this FL character is simply hopeless, you can't catch any good feelings or closer emotions with her.....maybe I'll continue but only for the main actor ML, whom we know from other movies and his character here is ok and the actor as always fits into this ML character well...

well I have to admit that in episode 32 the director gave FL and ML a chance for a passionate moment and here the main leads actors really rose to the occasion and I have to say that at that moment the chemistry between them was good, so it's almost the end of the drama, but that scene where the main leads met in passionate embraces was very well done and played... the drama was very good! I feel sorry for General Liang and FL's cousin who died because of FL's uncle's betrayal... it's so sad that good characters die and sacrifice their lives... but I'm glad that FL and ML have a good ending, which is rare in this type of drama... it's worth watching the whole drama, it's well done... congratulations to the whole team!!
