I must admit that I have very limited experience with Taiwanese dramas, this being only the fourth I saw after The Wonder Woman, The Victim's Game and A Moment's notice.

I have to say that over the years I have noticed a definite improvement toward more "serious" plots, with less "makjang" elements, to borrow a korean term. Not sure if this is an actual trend or just the fact that I saw some different kinds of drama with a small sample size. In any case, the experience certainly let me want to look for more (and I believe The Victim's Game will get a second season soon, so I am looking forward to that... not that it's in the same genre of this drama ;)).
