I agree with you completely. I love IU. I'm a fan and she was great in this drama. But just like you said, Moon So Ri gave a far better performance. Seems so unfair. Oh well. I'm happy nonetheless for IU and the creators of this drama for all the nominations it has received.

Moon So Ri isn't getting enough praise for carrying the drama, best actress of her generation.

IU was really very good. Park Bo Gum almost feels like a supporting character especially as the drama progresses. But it was Moon So Ri who I thought just knocked it out of the ballpark. What a powerhouse of a performance.

I tell you what, it definitely helps to go into watching something with low expectations, because it surpassed those low expectations. I'll be honest, while a masterpiece this is not, nor were they trying to create a masterpiece, nonetheless this wasn't as bad as people made this out to be.
