this was like two episodes and a half too long but other than that i enjoyed it quite a bit! after the murder mystery became central and then resolved it just felt like everything else was filler, so i feel like the pacing towards the ending could've been done a lot better, but it's impossible to deny that the main characters are super likable and the acting was top-notch. i also really liked that between the main characters (that we're supposed to root for) there was no unnecessary drama or series of frustrating misunderstandings. overall really enjoyed it!

i wasn't expecting them to get together so "fast" (by drama standards lol) but things are actually moving along quite fast and nicely in the other areas of the drama as well so yay!

with how they'd showed sangdo in ep2 i thought he'd be an asshole type of character, but i'm SO happy to be surprised! in ep3 we get to see him being a good friend, even if maybe one that has a raging crush on samdal. really digging the friendship dynamics a lot!

also most koreans go to thailand and japan for longer vacation, jeju is more the weekend or long weekend spot. korea is a really small country and most of southeast asia is really cheap in comparison, so most people fly out when they have more than 3 or 4 days off.

it's A LOT cheaper than seoul. a tiny one-room in central seoul would be around 1.5k USD, and a decent one-room in central jeju (not in the area of this drama, but the city) would be around 500USD. but honestly just the food difference in $ you can't compare. seoul is crazy expensive and jeju is really affordable even for tourism. i live in busan and i think jeju's cheaper than busan even -- which is already muuuuch cheaper than seoul.
