I'm curious if there are any good dramas where a childhood "couple" made it together in the end? I know of Jun Jiu Ling but wondering about any other ones. Basically like if CX was to end up with XY in this drama.

I think if CX and XY both wanted to be together, CX would have left Nian behind. They indicated a few times that CX would pick XY over Nian if it came down to it. And I think if XY was truly in love with CX, she wouldn't care too much about Nian. XY and CX have a tragic history that can't be recreated. But I personally don't feel that XY sees CX in a romantic way, so this is all just speculation if the writer had changed things!

About the maid thing, I think CX was playing along to make Nian go away. I don't know about the novel, but he told XY later on that he didn't like their smell. (I think that was about them, I've watched a lot of episodes in the last 24 hours so i may be confusing things) He also looked really uncomfortable when Xin Yue kissed him but he eventually went with it. I feel like everything he does has an intent and he bears with it to get to his ultimate goal of the throne. I would like to think he wouldn't be a player if he and XY managed to be together but who knows. He's not my favorite ML but if the story had changed a bit, he might have been.

Seriously. Whenever it comes on an episode, it's so powerful

I normally don't like alternate endings, but I would be all for it in this drama!!

Maybe if he started to give it up earlier on, but I think as he gets more and more power he wouldn't be able to. If she had reciprocated his feelings and was also honest that she would have to be the only woman, you're right... he may have been able to give it up for her. I do think she will remain the only woman he ever truly loves, so it is interesting to consider the what-ifs!

I think the only way CX and XY could ever be together is if they basically ran away together and gave up their identities. Like you said, CX would have many women in the palace and that is not going to work for XY. CX doesn’t want to give up the idea of the throne, so he can't have XY. I don't know how she would have reacted earlier on if he confessed his feelings, but I think now it's too late with the other men around her and it would make their interactions awkward. I like how it is now with him concealing his feelings and just taking care of her like a good brother. They have a good banter together and obviously trust each other like no one else in the world.

I am intrigued 🤣 I appreciate the "brother will protect you" sentiment and I like that for her, but I haven't seen much of any romantic feelings towards her. I'm guessing he gets more crazy for her after she is revived since he temporarily lost her again. I'm ready for more episodes!!!

One more question if you know the answer! Does CX force XY to marry FL or does she agree to it to help political alliances?

To answer the actual question, I would pick FFB/XL and then eventually go to Jing after XL inevitably dies. 😅 This is similar to my life. I had a great time in my 20s and then settled down with a good man once the craziness was out of my system.

Interesting! I read the novel up to the ceremony where she was reintroduced as Great Princess. I'm waiting to read the rest until season 1 is over so it gives me something related to do while we wait for season 2.

I asked this question earlier and was told no.

I like Jing but he is too puppy dog for me. However, I think he is the best choice for XY. He is exactly who she needs. He is steadfast in his love and won't leave her. For someone that felt abandoned her whole life, that is of the utmost importance to her. Even through all of their little misunderstandings so far, she still believes in him. She acts the most like a young woman in love when she's around him in private.

XL - ok, he is my favorite so bear with me. Lol I think he gives her that primal electric feel and thrill but neither of them know what to do with that feeling. Neither wants to say too much, but she admitted it was possible for her to like him and she was scared of that. For the first time in his life, he doesn't want to be seen as a monster if it makes her scared to develop feelings towards him. I feel that given the chance, if he didnt have his Chenrong loyalty, they could have figured it out and made it together.

AND I feel like there's an even better chance if he kept his persona as FFB. She even lamented if only he could stay as Bei. It was so wonderful to see them hanging around as normal humans.

CX - I really don't see him as anything but her brother. I know he gets jealous, but there is zero romantic feeling coming from her side so it's nothing to me. I just wish he could help protect her always for the rest of their lives instead of all the spoilers I've read.

So does anyone like FL or did his ship sail into the harbor too late? 🤣 For me, he is like a younger, innocent CX who values power over love. I don't feel he is a good fit for XY.
