imo they weren't trying too hard to hide the fact that MJH is the master of shadow works from us watchers (i'm surprised some people thought it was a plot twist π) β i'm more curious to see how mei lin will find out

i wouldn't necessarily say she's a pawn? by ep 5 i feel that mei lin willingly offered to be his blade because she's committed to taking down the actual perpetrator of the arson/massacre (ie she's not just playing along but working together with MJH even if she doesn't know yet about his identity as the shadow works master)
people commenting that mei lin and the princess have a cp feeling is once again proof of WJY's crazy chemistry-making skills with her female costars <3 in another world i just know she'd be the perfect lead for a historical wlw drama
