chu zhao's ultimate goal has also changed to include peace for the realm sooo they gotta deal with the northern desert once and for all! also maybe to further establish XYL's reputation? redeem himself for "abandoning post" like deng yi accused? haha i gotta wait a few hours before i can watch today's ep but i'm excited
Can someone help - which episode does the character Shao You, portrayed by Fa Xuan Ge, appear in? I just wanted…
i can't recall which prev eps exactly but he's there at the beginning of ep 16! he's deng yi's manservant, so whichever scenes he appears in, shao you's probably nearby
yeah i really hope it's not a rushed ending... in the novel xiao xun actually dies in the beginning of the third? fourth? volume so there was still plenty of story left. based on WRC's interview, he poisons/kills his dad 🤫 and based on reuters, it looks like XYF's gonna burn himself (to death?) ...everything that leads up to that is a mystery we'll have to wait for hahaha i also wanna see everyone get their just deserts
Man I'm on episode 4 and the fl is so short sighted. Guess she's still naive but like no allies, no favors, no…
"no allies, no favors, no talking(?) and no friends" she was reborn, not transmigrated HAHA she has to work to level the playing field first, and then make it advantageous for her plans later. you're still on the early stages of her growth!!
well... i'm looking forward to see what happens in the drama, but if they follow the novel then 1) xiao xun dies (probably at chu zhao's own hands, as seen from some trailer clips + WRC's interview) 2) deng yi is under chu zhao's thumb forever 3) xie yanfang is crippled for life and can't really plot against anyone anymore. also a happy ending for our leads—chu zhao achieves her wish of peace for the realm for a yu's reign, then goes to wander the world!
thinking about how the way chu ling raised chu zhao is seriously such a contrast to today's scene where the ministers laughed about their daughters wanting to emulate the grand princess. meanwhile when chu zhao brought chu ling a rabbit, he joked "did my patrol lady bring back a spy?" 🥲 he even made her an armour set when she was little... chu zhao grew up strong because of his love and affirmation aaaaa
i think they want to keep being interesting bcs it's started Mo Li too
those two dramas are on two completely different platforms 😂 youku's just stretching ATC out so their users stay subscribed until their next major drama is released
he's basically the only living remnant who can be proof of the xie clan's crimes sooo...
yeah i dunno if you've watched ep 17 but xie yanlai already confessed to chu zhao that he was the one tasked to burn down the village so we know it was the xie clan who planned for it
he's basically the only living remnant who can be proof of the xie clan's crimes sooo...
for now, it's only because xie yanlai is a xie that his clan is implicated. if they follow the novel, xie san ordered him to do it as an exchange of resources with the wei clan. i'm also curious how xiao xun/deng yi became aware and why they're so concerned with it! (probably to get dirt on xie san...)
oh it looks like netflix will continue with single updates til the final ep on june 20? i thought they'd also skip 3 days and follow the svip schedule haha
so many characters are so short sighted in this. I know people like this exist...but my goodness. So, another…
yeah this screenwriter really lacks the skills to build a fuller world, esp with the female ensemble from the novel (a lot of the noble ladies built really good relationships with chu zhao after the literary gathering arc, which happened before she became empress. but they fucked up the timeline here 😬)
to this specifc point: "FL's cousin has had more interactions with women of the court than the FL has" → even noble ladies can't freely enter the palace at will, which is exactly why chu zhao depends on chu tang, who CAN be outside with an ear to the ground + visit chu zhao in the palace as her cousin, to maintain good relationships with them and keep her informed
- the emperor's concubines probably died with him or got sent off to be tomb guardians - iirc in ep 2 xiao xun's men said there were no survivors in the 东宫府 so... no crown prince concubines left either
again... plot holes left unpatched by the screenwriter for his love-brained ideas hgwjfh
