I think bringing another actor out of nowhere is disrespectful to the actor who actually played the role.
Whenever I watch a random drama I find myself wanting to see my favorite in that role too. I imagine how my fav would potray if he played the role. That's my preference and I would never go disrespecting another artist because of that.
And Neo did an amazing performance as Baili Dongjun. His looks, acting and dubbing all fit this role. I can never imagine others playing BDJ. Thinking that is enough to cringe me.

A fandom of a certain actor(not related to this drama) attacked Neo and tried to spread all kinds of negative rumors to ruin his reputation. They bought black hot searches too. It's better not to trust those.
Afaik there's no despute between fans of Neo and Seven.
No one knows if he completed his part as Hong Ye or not. Xiaoyao started with 135days time duration which ended around July 10. So the actors might have other plans/schedule after that date. It's normal. Neo went to record the VS at 21st July for one month. This date was supposed to be 10days after the wrapup date (10th july).
So if the production crews delay the filming for any reason it shouldn't be the fault of any actors for having any future plans.
Even if it turns out that Neo has some parts left to shoot then the production team and Neo must have come to an agreement to wait for his return from that VS.
As of today, Neo is still on Beijing(IP location) and he will start filming LITC from 28th. Before that he might have to fix his makeup for the next role. So personally I think he wrapped up before leaving for VS.
