This season was mediocre at best. Good chemistry, but for what? They couldn’t even get Somin to play Buyeon for one last time and that child actor was playing her which barely made sense. Their whole mission was to prevent the Pokémon bird from getting into the world lol, which they barely dropped hints of last season. They did some continuity well but not the main plot? This is why showmakers need to limit themselves with certain number of episodes & why Netflix formula of 8 episodes a season works better than an average K-drama. You also get to spend more money as you’re working with less episodes. The actor who had to play Jinmu in the finale was a weak (& annoying) performer. They should have chilled with the tear inducing eye drop, half of the cast had unnecessary red eye in emotional scenes. Again, it’s not like I expected ground breaking supernatural story out of this because in the end this show works on the basic romance formula and the target audience likes it (the target audience being an average Kdrama fan who can consume any given two good looking leads). Plus the constantly sped up and cut dialogues? God, if only they knew how to edit or write a show?! Sorry for the rant, I just expected it to do good in one aspect but it didn’t in any unlike last season, which had its fun moments even if they couldn’t do parts of it right. Very much does not deserve the 10 star ratings here, but this is MDL after all.
I saw many comparing it to Squid Game and I think squid game gets the morals part better without explicitly pointing it out every other scene, while it felt cheesy & extra in Alice at times. AiB is set on a different scale overall, which is not what squid game will match or is trying to, to be very honest.
i understand the first episode was not that of a hook but 2nd was very good !!!!
Uh, I never expected it to be “god tier” . It’s a limited OTT Series so I expected it to be at least somewhat 2022 standards lol. Not to mention, AoS also suffers bad CGI on multiple occasions but we give it a pass because of otherwise beautiful camerawork and locations which do work out. Bulgasal looked good for like first 3 episodes and then the production quality dropped immensely. True, I don’t know why they messed up but It’s not wrong to call them out for it, considering how highly anticipated Island was.
Has to be the worst CGI & action choreography/direction I’ve seen in such a highly anticipated show yet. Was this made on a YouTube video budget? Terrible.
It's a decent timepass drama, no story flow or anything but can be a good passive watch like Emily in Paris if you can bear frequent bad acting. It's from Netflix so budget is also nice, looks good visually. Don't come in with any expectations.
It’s getting damn annoying and is very visible how some scenes are sped up. If they knew how to edit the show better, they wouldn’t have to speed up dialogues and scenes that scriptwriters write and actors portray after so much practice. This happens in multiple K-dramas, I’m aware, but felt the need to point out after getting a lil annoyed today. Sorry for the rant.
I liked the series, I love the way it's edited and shot, it's different for sure. I hate how incomplete it feels but then again that's what I signed up for, the series was originally supposed to come out in 2023 after all but they divided it into parts to showcase it now...
The second leads are bubbly and likeable. Ofc the SFL has those couple of rich ppl qualities, but they don't really annoy me as such? It's a well written character. I continue to like the vibes the show, there's good potential for tension and drama.
They depict really well how workplace deals with people from different backgrounds, and I like how some of the little things happen off-screen.
