XL has his army , how he not risking anything? He responsible for their life!
Later XL will save XY and TSJ life, is it mean they should do everything for him? He will save XY and TSJ from 1000% death, and will not ask anything in return.
TSJ not care about his family, he gave up on them at episode one and was ready become 17 ,so I not see how he risking anything.

It's easy give up when you not care about it anymore, when for XL his army and father is everything, he still will do everything for XY.

I don't think XL can't be with XY because he not trust her or afraid of being abandoned, it's just his devotion to his adopted father and his army too strong. As demon once he become loyal for someone he can't betrayed that person.

So I can be delusional but in my opinion, she really in love with XL , on more mature passionate level, but she not let herself feel it, like she said not let him go into her dreams. And with Jing she let him love her, she happy and relax, safe and loved.
As TJC said himself XL is unattainable lover, so I think it's perfect description, how XY feels about him, she can feel attached in love or anything, but it someone she know she will never be together..
