No, SS slowly will in love with LBY , and they will be very happy, but 3 days before marriage he will know some true about his clan death, and for revenge will kill a lot people. So emperor will sand him to border, and he will broke up with SS. But during this 5 years she will help clean his name, why he did his revenge, also she became much more mature and independent, she will live and work in palace.

Also that time there wasn't good medicine, people literally can died because of problems with tooth, or giving birth or any other 1000+ reasons

I think we all know that LBY did wrong, when technically force SS to engaged with him. But if we look at this from a historical perspective, what else he can do? That's time people not dating, he even can't spend time with her , to let her like him or know him (he literally need be injured because of her, so she can come visit him), he different from LY who hasn't job and can freely follow SS without many people noticed it, or YS who can act as her teacher to get close to her. And as I said if you read other books such as Jane Austen, that was the time when people propose to each other after slight sympathy. My grand grandmas married that kind before, some boys come and ask their families and they agreed, because that families wasn't bad and man was hardworking, had a house, etc. Nobody is thinking about love or not. So it's also why I find SS character very realistic, at that time marry person for whom you at least feel a bit sympathy already was great (can see the second princess married man she didn't like at all, and fifth should marry some womanizer). And there we have LBY who is madly in love with SS, who already lost her one time because LY proposed to her first, so he really doesn't want to waste more time.
