I think it's you nitpicking and looking for something to criticize her, there a lot different scenes where she chased , and she not the slave in all those scenes, she also work as dancer and send to brothel , where she is dolled up.

And cdarama last place where you should looking for 1000% realism, there a lot USA historical shows where characters have modern make up , without any hair on leg and armpits and so on
